Bored is the latest track from Bad Ideas to get a music video.
Released on 18 April, the video was directed by Jade Ehlers and depicts Tessa Violet isolated with only a computer for company, in a story that starts off innocent enough but slowly evolves into something more sinister.
Tessa promoted Bored by streaming a “music video countdown” on her YouTube channel an hour before the premiere, anticipating the video’s release by reacting to her previous music videos. An hour after the video’s release, “Tessa Violet” was trending on Twitter in both the UK and the United States.
Bored has been described by Tessa as an accidental “quarantine anthem” and was filmed in February at the YouTube Space in LA.
Fellow musicians and YouTubers were quick to express excitement and positivity for the new video, with Orla Gartland calling Tessa the “queen of music vids” on Twitter.
