Nightmare was released this past Friday.
Bethan Leadley first hinted at the existence of a new song early last week, tweeting about it in the lead up to its release on 10 April.

Nightmare is the first single Bethan has premiered in 2020 and follows the 2019 releases of 23, Money and Chic.
Speaking about the song in a series of Tweets, Bethan says:
“This time four years ago I was a mess. I looked for myself in others, I let those people walk over me, I didn’t feel like my thoughts and feelings were valid, I believed people when they called me crazy and dumb. Looking at another string of s***y messages, I said ‘f**k this’ and that was the start of the rest of my life.
“It look so long to look at myself and all my flaws and throw my arms around her,” she continues. “We’re all we’ve got. We have to love ourselves. Not because we’re perfect, because we’re not. Our limitations begin and end in our minds. There’s so much more we can do and learn. I wasn’t sure if I was even going to release this song but at midnight I’m letting go of some of that fear.”
The artwork for the single was designed by Dutch artist Laura Brouwers, known better online as Cyarine.
Thus far, the response to Nightmare has been overwhelmingly positive:
