Tuned was released by Facebook’s New Product Experimentation team.
The app, which is only available on IOS-devices for those living in the United States and Canada, will not require users to have a Facebook account, as partners can be added via their phone number.
Facebook describes Tuned as “a private space” were partners can interact with one another, saying, “With Tuned, you can be as mushy, quirky, and silly as you are together in person, even when you’re apart.”
The app has several features, including the ability for partners to curate a private, scrapbook-style feed, share Spotify playlists, send custom stickers and reactions, set moods and see how the other is feeling, and “send snapshots, notes, cards, voice memos and more”.
While those who use Tuned don’t need a Facebook account to sign in, it’s reported they will still have to adhere to the site’s data rules, meaning the information they provide will be subject to ad targeting.
Tuned is currently available to download for free via Apple’s app store.
