Get Fit with Tyler Oakley will be available exclusively on IGTV.
Tyler Oakley has announced the launch of his new web series, which will focus on workouts viewers can do from the comfort of their own home.
Through his YouTube channel and social media, Tyler has been sharing his fitness journey with his subscribers. This has prompted many of his followers to ask about his workout routine, which is what inspired him to begin work on the project at the start of 2020:
“Over the past few years, I’ve really gotten into the gym. I’ve gotten into a rhythm of lifting and feeling confident at the gym, so all of that is covered in the videos in the series.”
New episodes of Get Fit with Tyler Oakley will be uploaded every Monday to Tyler’s Instagram page, and each will show viewers a different workout they can do at home at their own pace, with a focus on different parts of the body.
“I personally have found kind of a passion in staying active and lifting and working out and finding what’s best for my body,” he explains in the announcement video. “And, so, I figured why not bring you guys along for the ride, hopefully teach you a few things and maybe inspire you to be a little bit more active, if you’re able.”
According to Tyler, the series is for anyone, even those who don’t regularly workout. To ensure the workouts and exercises he shares are safe and correct, personal trainer Jared Gonzales has been asked to be involved in the series. Viewers of Tyler’s channel will recognize him from 2018’s Couples Yoga Challenge video.
The first episode was uploaded to Tyler’s Instagram on 6 April and features what’s called a circuit workout, where one alternates between exercising and resting. He hopes the series will allow people to feel in control of their fitness and health during the world’s current climate:
“I guarantee you, especially during a time when all of us are feeling a little bit more discouraged or lost, or confused by what we’re up to in life, getting up and getting active and feeling in control of your fitness journey does wonders to boost your mood.
“Everyone is on their own journey with fitness,” he continues. “So if this is the thing that maybe gets you a little more comfortable with feeling a little bit more active, then my goal has been achieved.”
