It’s the start of a new decade and the end of another.
It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating the start of the 2010s and all the hope and promise they held. Many of us were in our teen years, dealing with acne, secondary school problems and spending hours on the internet. While we may still spend most of our free time scouring the likes of YouTube and Twitter, we have changed up how we look. Long gone are our days of questionable style choices and awful school uniforms, replaced by a much more stylish and mature look. (Or so we like to think.)
Many of our favourite creators have been looking back on the past 10 years and all they brought. One way in which they’re reflecting is sharing how much they’ve changed since 2010. They’ve grown wiser, become more independent and jumped into styles that are all their own, and looking at all these old-school photos has us thankful that puberty and the awkwardness that comes with it do eventually come to an end.
Looking good!

We don’t know about you, but we think Jemel Akeem looked good in both 2009 and in 2019! Also, we are a major fan of the beard. We hope it stays for a while!
Are you sure these photos were taken 10 years apart?
FINE i'll do this too – 2009 VS 2019 #10YearChallenge

We think this challenge proves that Christy Ku has discovered the fountain of youth.
Better eyebrows are everything
Much happier, better fashion choices and better eyebrows! pic.twitter.com/7kEyRS0hFh

We’re sure you aren’t the only one thankful for the eyebrow glow-up, Alice Thorpe. We, for one, want to forget about the eyebrows (or the nearly non-existent worms on our face, as we normally refer to them as) that we had at the beginning of the decade.
Always rocking out
10 years. Never gonna stop. 2020βs gonna hear me scream louder than ever before.
hope you scream with me π€ pic.twitter.com/vvhhvJjBzh— Peter Kingston (@petesjams) December 31, 2019
It’s been amazing watching Peter Kingston‘s rise throughout the past decade. Here’s to the 2020s continuing to be filled with his brilliant voice! (We’re serious. We don’t know what we’d do without it.)
We remember this look well

We remember this look well, Coral Francis, for we too used to dress like this. If you were like us, then we bet you had headbands in every colour of the rainbow, despite the fact they were definitely not the best of accessories.

We honestly can’t remember a time when Chloe Dungate‘s gorgeous locks weren’t as colourful as they are now. While we love the blonde look, we’re glad she now lets her colourful and wonderful personality shine through in her style!
A horrible realisation

Wow, this tweet is waaaaay too real, Adam Flanagan. We don’t need to be reminded that we’re nearing the big 3-0…

We’re glad to see the 2010s treated Jessica Kellgren-Fozard so well. Better medical help, an adorable marriage and possibly the cutest doggo we’ve ever seen – we can say it was a very successful decade, indeed!
Bring back the blonde hair!
Essentially the same person, though I think we can all agree the bleached hair should make a comeback #2009v2019 pic.twitter.com/TDa1dYJqo5

The bleached-blonde hair is SUCH a look, Lauren Wade! What do we have to do for you to bring it back?

Ahh, 2009 was such a simpler time for those of us who identify as emo or scene. We miss the days when we could say “rawr” and use “:3” un-ironically. Yasmine Summan, your current blue hair and fashion are such style goals – we definitely need you to give us some tips!
We wonder what we’ll look like in another 10 years.
It might seem like a long ways away, but 2030 will be sneaking up on us before we know it. We wonder how much we’ll have changed. Will our hair have gone grey? Will we be wearing sensible shoes? Will we *gasp* have stopped watching YouTube? (We certainly hope not!) Who knows, guess we’ll have to wait another 10 years to find out.
