Who’s ready for some #Content?
If you’re like us, then you’ve been enjoying Tom Ridgewell‘s #Content series for many moons now. It’s something unique, something special, something… Different. It’s unlike anything we’ve watched before, and maybe that’s why we love it so much. In fact, it’s so near and dear to our hearts that we felt it was about time we wrote an entire article dedicated to it. So here we go with our 10 favourite #Content moments!
When he became egg
Is there a better Easter video?
There’s certainly not a more dedicated video to the dream of becoming an egg than this one right here. Why is watching somebody shave their hair so damn entertaining? We don’t have the answer, but the fact that’s only the very beginning of this video says a lot. The unexpected plot of gay polyamorous chicks getting divorced kept us on the edge of our seats.
For what it’s worth, we think you make a lovely egg, Tom.
When he solved all our problems
“Now, it’s been said I’m an expert on many, many things.”
Tom uses his expertise to advise us on all of our problems. This video is teeming with lots of advice, ranging from stealing a house and putting a toaster in the bath, to hiding a body in your tum, all interspersed with an alarming number of suggestions to have sex with dogs. While we wouldn’t necessarily recommend following anything Tom says, we adore the chaotic energy he exudes.
When the thesaurus provided minutes of entertainment
If the title didn’t convince you to watch this video, maybe we can. Tom, Eddie Bowley and Elliot Gough sit down to play The Thesaurus Game. What exactly do they mean by “drone show”, “plunge away” and “the crack zone”? If you can’t figure it out, we guess you’ll just have to watch the video!
But who’s the most likely to…
A game of who is the most/least likely, renowned for its destruction of friendships. Have you ever wondered who is the most likely to get a good night’s sleep, who’s the most likely to be a furry or who is the most likely to seduce a goblin? Well, this video will give you all the answers you could ever need. (And more!)
The entirety of the #ContentOlympics
Who doesn’t love a good board game? Did you enjoy the five day-long #ContentOlympics? We know we did! From Clickbait, with iconic tag lines like “bored water reality everyone overboard” and “hi, brother, come over”, to Cards Against Humanity, where Elliot and Eddie desperately tried – and failed – to offend Tom. Joking Hazard was followed by Exploding Kittens; we all knew Tom would regret giving away that diffuse card.
We had Chameleon, where Eddie appeared doomed to a life of camouflage, and the classic headphone challenge saw Eddie was the undeniable champion. Total Rickall gave us Elliot “Parasite Killer” Gough. (Did we just make that name up? Maybe!) Klask took us back to playing air hockey in miniature magnetic form, and the classic beer pong saw Elliot avoiding drinking for a frankly ridiculous amount of time. A silent game of Bop It showed us some wonderful dance moves and was followed by Twister, featuring the trio in a series of compromising positions
We had Cunning Linguists take 2, and how did Eddie get the finale of America so fast? We just need to know! We had a game of Heads Up, bringing us the joy of Meghan Shoes, and by the time we reached Linkee, Eddie was still doing better than everyone else. We’re not saying he cheated, but you have to admit, it’s suspicious.
A game of pogs took us back to the playground as the trio tried (and mostly failed) to reign victorious in the classic game. This was followed up by Truth Bombs and Top Trumps, with things ending with the game that tears families apart, Uno.
When Tom painted his face
Who doesn’t love a good makeup tutorial? Enough primer to make anybody who has ever bought one flinch, a far too pale foundation and literally dabbing on concealer, as well as a fairly successful first attempt at contour and highlight. Should Tom have given himself lines to colour in for his lipstick? Maybe. Thinking back on our first attempts at makeup, this isn’t a bad first go.
The fake news game
Who doesn’t love Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal? One of our favourite collaborations, by far. Fake news remains endlessly topical and, thanks to this video, we all support the Octopus 2020 campaign. Finish that Headline gave us goldmines, like Stalked By the Dead Saved By My Pet Rock. We are all still left wondering if they still have the framed potato with a face.
The meme maker
The green screen, a truly magical tool, and another massive mistake in Tom’s life. The memes this video spawned are beyond compare. There’s honestly not much more to say about it. We’ll let the video do the talking.
When we finally got pie flavoured pie
A handy how-to in case you’ve ever wanted to bake a pie flavoured pie for the ones you love. As we know, there are no other cooking shows on YouTube, so it’s a good job we have this! Tom and Chloe Dungate are truly great pie-oneers – and, of course, guest star, Henry VIII.
When Rebecca Parham drew Tom’s memories
As Rebecca Parham draws Tom’s memories, we get to relive everything, from cats preventing gaming and people tied up in a warehouse, to children with guns… Honestly, we aren’t sure if we want to know more about these memories. Regardless of Tom’s past, we can’t help but appreciate Rebecca’s artistic talent and ability to recreate these photos without seeing them.
So there you have it…
Our 10 favourite moments from TomSka’s #Content. From board games and green screens, to makeup and… Umm… Becoming an egg, we have had a whole lot of fun and are crossing our fingers for more from this series in the future.
