“Facebook is full on wrong ‘uns and mums.”
In this video, Becky James jumps straight into the often scary and unknown world of Facebook mums, so we don’t have to. (What an utter legend.)
Going by the alias of Karen Stevens, armed with a mum-typical “live, laugh, love” header image and after answering “sub2tanyaburr” to the initiation questions, Becky (sorry, we mean Karen) kicked off her journey into “the land of mums”. These Facebook groups are used as a platform for parents to share their family content and tips, and talk about their lives, so fitting into the flow of the group wasn’t too difficult for this YouTuber.
Becky was sure that making the classic error of mistaking a roast chicken for her child (we’ve all been there) would immediately get her kicked out of the IDGAF Mamas group. However, with the mums finding it hilarious, Becky soldiered on, having “the mums on strings”. After this, she had a short-lived experience in the Zoflora Addicts group, where she immediately decided to cause chaos by simply stating, “Zoflora is shite.” This earned an iconic response from the group’s admin, which we won’t spoil for you.
Finally, Becky joined a group based around the peak interest of mum Facebook culture: mother-in-law shaming. While she didn’t get an opportunity to wreck havoc here, she did read a couple of the most recent posts, with some even prompting a few exceptionally shocked facial expressions.
Unfortunately, all this ultimately led to the suspension of Karen Stevens’ Facebook page, although we, for one, would’ve fallen for it!
