Carrie Hope Fletcher, Zoe Sugg and TomSka are just a handful of those who are now using the new feature.
On 30 July 2019, Instagram launched its new donate button in the UK. The feature allows users to choose a charity and help raise money for its cause.
Since its release a number of UK YouTubers have used it to reach out to their followers to help raise money for their chosen charities.
Lucy Moon, Thomas “TomSka” Ridgewell, Jack Howard and Samantha Harvey started raising money for Battersea Dog Home with the feature on the day of its release. Jim Chapman did the same for WWF UK and Zoe Sugg used it the raise funds for Mind.
The following day Carrie Hope Fletcher joined in to raise money for Papyrus UK. Carrie later confirmed on Twitter that her followers raised over £5500.
Well, gang! In just 24 hours, the final amount came to a whopping £5,501 ! Hey @PAPYRUS_tweets , could you let me and my lovely lot know exactly what that money is going to do and just how much it’s going to help?! pic.twitter.com/sHROaDktHs
