Harriet Pavlou is a football player sharing her freestyle skills via TikTok. TenEighty recently caught up with her to chat about her videos and those who watch them.
TenEighty: What was the first TikTok video you ever watched?
H: I think it was a friend who was going on about how amazing Musical.ly at the time was!
T: Why did you decide to start sharing your football skills on TikTok?
H: A friend who also creates content told me about it. I prefer it, as you can add music and no time is wasted editing your own videos like [on] Instagram.
T: What advice can you give to those who want to make a name for themselves on TikTok?
H: Post regularly, be consistent and create content that people will enjoy! Most importantly, have fun, as the viewers can see if you’re enjoying the content you produce.
T: What is the best thing to come out of you starting your TikTok account?
H: The followers and comments are so good! In addition, I enjoy working with top brands, as I think I’m the biggest football creator on TikTok!
T: What do you hope young girls take from watching your videos?
H: I hope I inspire them to know that girls can play sport. To know that women are equal and it’s important to chase your dreams and never give up.
T: What’s one thing you would say to our readers who wish to get started on TikTok, but aren’t sure what direction to take?
H: Make sure you post content that shows your gifts and talents, and post things that you enjoy doing. Have fun, but also be intentional with what you post.
T: What’s the best/funniest TikTok video you’ve seen as of late?
H: The Bottle Cap Challenge [videos] are funny at the moment!
Do you have anything to say to young girls who wish to get started in sport?
H: Go for it! Never give up and enjoy yourself.
T: Is there a UK-based TikTok creator you can recommend to us?
H: @ben. He’s a friend who also creates football freestyle content.
Would you rather…
Never play football again or never upload to TikTok again?
H: That’s a horrible one, but never upload to TikTok again. Football has been with me since I was 8 years old and I’ve been playing for England since 11!
An evening out with friends or a cozy night in?
H: Cozy night in!
Never be able to watch TikTok again or never be able to watch Netflix again?
H: Never be able [to] watch Netflix.
Only be able to wear your football uniform or only be able to wear the outfit you’re wearing in your last video?
H: Last video outfit.
Have unlimited knowledge or unlimited power?
H: Unlimited money!
