Happy Pride Month, everyone!
We hope everyone has been enjoying the Pride celebrations that have been occurring around the UK over the past month. We’ve been loving what’s going on, which is why we thought we’d add to it all by sharing 10 up-and-coming LGBTQ+ creators who we feel you should all be watching. Whether they’re writing beautiful spoken word, recommending some amazing books for us to read, sharing their thoughts on the LBGTQ+ community or are simply doing their thing in front of the camera, we love what they’re bringing to the table and want to spotlight it!
Here they are, 10 LGBTQ+ creators you need to check out this Pride Month!
Izzy Inkpen
We’re kicking things off with Izzy Inkpen, whose talent for writing spoken word poetry knows no bounds.
One look through Izzy’s channel shows they’re not your average YouTuber. The majority of their videos feature spoken word pieces that hit you right in your soul and are filled with emotion. The way Izzy is able to eloquently share their message is both breathtaking and enviable, and we often find ourselves lost in thought after watching each video. It’s not often that a YouTuber’s content has this effect on us, which is why their channel is one we feel our readers must definitely check out.
Bradley Birkholz
If you’re looking for a YouTube creator whose passion for the LGBTQ+ community radiates in each video they upload, then Bradley Birkholz is the one for you!
Bradley’s channel has everything you could possibly want. Whether you’re in the mood for some candid chats about the LGBTQ+ community and the issues those within it face, or you’re interested in travel tips and videos regarding activism, Bradley has covered it all and continues to be one of our favourite up-and-coming creators. As well, he sometimes transforms into the ever so wonderful Bella Tempus, whose Tea with Bella series is one of our favourites on the web!
Damilola Adejonwo
Get ready to feel some major makeup envy with the next entry on our list, as Damilola Adejonwo has some major skills!
Damilola hasn’t uploaded in about a year and we’re constantly hoping that he’ll make his return to YouTube. Until then, we’ll continue to rewatch his videos, which include some GRWMs, chats with his friends (these are a guaranteed laugh!), advice videos and so much more. He’s covered a lot, so it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll never grow bored when visiting his channel. Fair warning, though: if you thought your makeup skills were good, wait until you see the looks he comes up with!
genderpunksap
We recently came across India Hendrie‘s channel and we’re so glad we did, for they’re extremely passionate about covering LGBTQ+ issues in their videos!
Those of you who subscribe to India will notice two things: 1) they upload super regularly and 2) they are not afraid to voice their opinion. They’re constantly highlighting the issues trans and non-binary people face in today’s society, and try to spotlight those within the community who they feel deserve more attention. What’s more, according to their Patreon, they’re currently collecting art, essays and poetry pieces from non-binary people in order to create an anthology of non-binary experience. We honestly don’t know what more you could want in both a person and a channel.
Noah Finn Adams
Music lovers rejoice, because we have just the creator for you. Their name? Noah Finn Adams.
Noah is a trans man whose channel includes fun collabs with friends, original music and numerous covers that’ll leave you singing long after you finished watching his videos. As well, he has thoroughly covered his journey as a trans person, including documenting his top surgery and sharing his experiences taking testosterone. Whether you’re looking for information or are simply in need of a good time, Noah’s channel is definitely the one for you.
Bloom
Get ready to meet your new favourite duo. Bloom, the brainchild of Libby Masters and Brogan O’Grady, is here to take over your YouTube-watching experience.
While they haven’t uploaded in a while, Libby and Brogan have a back catalogue of videos that are sure to hold viewers over until they make their return to YouTube. Whether you’re interested in pop culture or are more a day-out/travel vlog sort of person, you’re sure to find something that piques your interest on their channel. Not only that, but we think they’re without a doubt one of the most adorable couples out there! We wish we could find a relationship as strong (and cute) as theirs.
Lily Eleanor Reads
BookTubers and bookworms, this next recommendation is for you. Sharing her love for all things literature, we have the lovely Lily Eleanor!
In case you couldn’t notice with the publishing of our BookTubers article, we’ve been really big into reading as of late, so of course we had to spotlight a BookTube creator in this article. Lily’s channel may be small, but it’s growing, and it’s no secret as to why! From her monthly book hauls to her opinions on lesser known releases, Lily’s channel is surefire way to discover new authors and fill that bookshelf of yours!
Junior Joye
Get ready for some high energy with Junior Joye! (Seriously, so much energy.)
We honestly don’t think we’ve come across a YouTuber with as much energy as Junior, and we wish we could steal some of his energy because we could sure do with a boost every once in a while. For those of you curious as to the content Junior uploads, it’s primarily sit-down vlogs with the odd travel vlog sprinkled in here and there. He’s not afraid to be completely honest in his videos, and you’ll find yourself taking notes when he shares his experiences. If there’s a creator we recommend adding to your “To Watch” list, it’s definitely Junior.
Ellen Jones
It’s no secret that we here at TenEighty are huge fans of Ellen Jones‘ channel, which is why we simply had to include her on this list!
Ellen’s channel spans a whole host of topics, including mental health, autism and LGBTQ+ rights. Not one to hold her tongue on issues that are important to her, her videos are filled with useful tips and insightful opinions that really make you think. As well, she’s not limited herself to just YouTube. Not only does she host a brilliant podcast, she won the MTV EMA Generation Award back in late 2018. If that doesn’t make you want to check out her channel, we don’t know what will.
Claudia Boleyn
Given we’re huge Doctor Who fans, we simply couldn’t write this list without including at least one fellow fan. Enter Claudia Boleyn!
There’s something we love about a creator whose as open and honest as Claudia. She thoroughly discusses her experiences with mental health and Borderline Personality Disorder, and actively shows her followers that it’s okay to seek help and guidance if they too are struggling. As well, she isn’t one to shy away from sharing her love for all things fandom, and was even named a member of Doctor Who Magazine‘s Time Team back in 2018. Music more your thing? Then you’ll want to hop on over to her second channel, where she shares with us some absolutely gorgeous tunes. Our favourites are definitely George and Celestia.
So there you have it…
10 up-and-coming LGBTQ+ creators we feel you should be watching this Pride Month. We love the variety of content they’re bringing to YouTube, and we feel they’ll each go pretty far. We’re hoping you discovered a few who you connect with, because, to us, there’s no better feeling than discovering your new favourite YouTuber!
