How I Became A Superhero is the follow up to 2016’s Not A Role Model.
Set for 25 September, the show will see Suli Breaks performing his spoken word poetry live and leaving the audience feeling “entertained, enlightened and empowered”.
The performance, which will be occurring at the 02 Brixton Academy in London, will be culmination of Suli’s work since his Not A Role Model live show. Speaking on Twitter, Suli shares how he hopes the show will be a “life changing experience”.
In the How I Became A Superhero announcement video, Suli discusses how his concept of who is a superhero has changed over time, from those he read about in comic books to the people he encounters in everyday life, such as parents, entrepreneurs and those who have chosen to deviate from the status quo and take a chance with their lives. This has led him to conclude:
“Guess we all have some kind of superpower then, don’t we? We can all make choices that change our lives and the situation for those around us.”
