How do you mend a broken heart?
Heartbreak. Unfortunately, we’ve all been there. The tears, the unsettling nerves, the fear of what is to come. The good news? We have all, also, come out the other end; stronger, more independent and a feeling of rejuvenation enabling you to tackle what the world has in store. But how do you get there? Well, we didn’t know at first either, so we did what we do best and reached out to some of our favourite YouTubers to see what they had to say on dealing with heartbreak.
Here they are, our Five of the Best: Dealing with Heartbreak!
5 TIPS TO GET OVER A BREAKUP | Katie Snooks
We all adore Katie Snooks here at Ten Eighty HQ and were devastated to hear about her break up with her ex-partner. The flip side to this is witnessing how much she has grown, and seeing her confidence soar has been a delight. If there’s one person who knows how to pick themselves up after a heartbreak, it’s Katie.
Her video is short, concise and deeply personal. These are all the things she did to get to where she is today and move forward in life. The tips include things like blocking exes and focusing on your own life. Can we get an Amen?
HOW TO FIX A BROKEN HEART | Getting over a break up | Steph Elswood
It’s never easy seeing someone cry, and when Stephanie Elswood opened her heart to us and her viewers, we were right there with her. A year after a big break up, Steph opens up about the lessons she learnt and how she has grown as a person. As she says, “Everything in life is a love or a lesson. In this case, you’ve lost a love you thought you had to have to look for the lesson”
She talks a lot about mindset – giving yourself time to feel what you’re feeling, but then moving forward from it. Giving yourself time to grieve is important. A big take away is the importance of friends during this process. She gets deep and personal with her story, which is a big comfort for those who are going through heartbreak right now.
RELATIONSHIP Q&A – break ups, dating & more! | Amelia Liana
After two long and meaningful relationships, both Estee Lalonde and Amelia Liana share their tips and tricks in dealing with relationships, including living alone and moving on from relationships. They demonstrate the importance of having a support system to guide them through the healing process. They help you understand how difficult the decision to breakup with a partner is and the new life it presents to you.
The video is a Q&A and, aside from the section on heartbreak, there are also other bits of information, which gives you hope for future relationships.
Our First BAD Breakups & What We Learned | Melanie Murphy
Nothing is more gut-wrenching than having to go through getting your heart broken for the first time. It is a pain none of us will ever forget. Both Melanie Murphy and Sarah Courtney open up about their first heartbreak and the lessons they learned from the experience later on in life.
They talk about navigating their new life and juggling other relationships, including being in the same friendship with your ex – not fun! This video reminds us of the kind of conversation a big sister would have with a younger sibling who is going through their first heartbreak.
how to: GET THROUGH A BREAKUP | Breeny Lee
When we get into a relationship, we become a version of ourselves in relation to the other person. Breeny Lee demonstrates this perfectly in this video using two pieces of paper that she has glued together.
If you’ve recently ended a relationship and are in need of a pep-talk, this is the video for you. She reminds us that we need to set boundaries, that what is meant to be is what will happen and not to allow rejection to make us feel like less of ourselves. Honestly, we thought we were over our last break up, but we felt Breeny’s words in our soul. We didn’t think that we needed to hear what she had to say, but we most definitely did.
Words by Nafisah and Jamie Rogers.
So there you have it…
