Another week, another round of amazing videos to highlight.
If you were to ask us which articles are our favourite to write, we’d have to put Weekly Round-Up pretty high up on the list. We love getting to explore the depths of our sub box, looking for awesome content to share with our readers. From amazing cover videos to comedy sketches and everything in between, we’re constantly blown away at how talented our fave creators are, and that makes us even more excited to share their videos with you all. Get ready, because that’s exactly what we’re about to do.
Here it is, the Weekly Round-Up!
Here Comes The Sun (feat. dodie) | Jacob Collier
It’s nearly May, which means the majority of us probably have summertime on the mind. Sure, the season doesn’t officially get underway until the end of June, but May is when the sun starts to shine for longer and we get some pretty decent temperatures. That’s why we simply had to include Jacob Collier and dodie‘s rendition of The Beatles’ Here Comes The Sun.
What better way to get into the summer spirit than with one of our favourite collaborations of the year? Not only is the video amazing (that editing tho), but just one watch-through is enough to show just how much fun these two had creating this video. If you’re like us, it’s probably left you wanting to grab the sun lotion and plan a trip to the beach or a walk through the park.
My Story: How to love again without self doubt | Katie Snooks
Anyone who’s experienced a breakup knows the pain and self-doubt that normally follows. You question whether you’ll be able to fully trust another person and worry about the what-ifs that’ll pop up if you enter into a new relationship. Tons of people have these thoughts, which is why we’re happy Katie Snooks is discussing her own experiences with self-doubt and offering some advice on how to overcome it.
Throughout the video, Katie emphasises the need to stay focused on the present and the understanding that you’re still yourself, just with the strength you’ve gained from these past experiences. Some of the tips she offers include talking with friends and family, keeping a thought journal and not comparing yourself to anyone else, amongst others. This is such an important video and we highly recommend everyone give it a watch!
Attempting a MARATHON on the GREAT WALL of CHINA | TheLifeOfJord
If you live in the London area, odds are you’ve either participated or been witness to a marathon or two. Maybe you’ve taken part in a Park Run, or perhaps you ran for a charity. However, we doubt you’ve ran one along the Great Wall of China. The scenery, the history, the breathtaking view – we’re in disbelief just typing this!
Jordan Simons recently traveled to China to attempt this great feat. While he’d initially hoped to complete the entire length of the run, due to his knee seizing he was only able to complete half the course. He states in the video that he doesn’t feel like the winner, but we’d like to argue the contrary. Jordan, you’re a winner in our books and the fact you were able to complete what you did is something you should be incredibly proud of!
Removing DISTRACTIONS || Top Tips which work! | Ruby Granger
Exam season is in full swing, so many of our readers are either knee-deep in study notes or have written so many exams that they’ve become a blur. Given how important this time of year is for students, ways to optimise study time are pretty important, which is why we’re sharing this video by Ruby Granger.
Distractions are everywhere, from the exam room to your own bedroom, and Ruby offers up numerous tips on how to ensure your focus doesn’t sway. Some of what she discusses is common sense, such as turning one’s phone off, while others are things we’ve never before considered, such as having a signature scent that you associate only with revision and focus. With these tips, your study sessions are sure to improve!
Champagne Saber in 4K Slow Motion with Rhett and Link | The Slow Mo Guys
There’s nothing more satisfying than the perfect champagne cork pop, but have you ever thought about doing it with the use of a saber? That’s exactly what Daniel Gruchy and Gavin Free of The Slow Mo Guys are doing in this video, with a little help from Good Mythical Morning‘s Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal.
Even though we know a champagne saber is pretty dull, we still don’t know how comfortable we are with Link handling one, given his history of knives… Let’s just say we’re glad he didn’t maim or impale anyone. Now, all we need is The Slow Mo Guys to feature on Good Mythical Morning! How about another round of slow-motion charades?
You know we can’t stop at just five…
For Becky James‘ birthday, Sam Carr decided to spend a week pranking her by pretending to be a new fan account. With so many twists and turns, this is nothing short but amazing! Sam is the ultimate Becky stan.
We can all do with being a little happier and Jade Billington is here with oodles of tips on how both she and her viewers manage to keep themselves upbeat and excited for the day ahead!
