The Easter holidays have come and gone.
Now that you’ve eaten more than your own weight in Easter eggs and have a bigger chocolate hangover than the one you’d get from all the bank holiday drinks, it’s time to do some relaxing. Sit in the sun or, preferably, hide away indoors next to a fan, watching all the best videos YouTube has to offer. Ah, this is the life.
On with the Round-Up!
10 Books Under 50 Pages | Jean Bookishthoughts
Sometimes you can really be in the mood to read a new book, but you might not have the time or even the motivation to tackle a big one, which means you end up not picking anything and go for months and months without reading. A nice solution to that is short stories. Small books under 50 pages are so easy to read and aren’t time consuming. They can be read quickly in one sitting, so you won’t feel guilty about not finishing your latest read.
Jean Menzies recommends some of her favourite small books. She suggests those that fall under everything, from sci-fi to a more academic book with a collection of essays, and some that include some beautiful illustrations.
Make Her Proud | JosephEvans1011
Last week, Joseph Evans uploaded a stunning and moving video, dedicated to his late Grandma, Ann Evans. The video shares messages that will resonate with anyone who has gone through the agony of losing a loved one. It’s truly beautiful.
In the description, Joseph links to a charity that his Grandma supported and wished for people to donate to. If you can, take a second to check it out.
Indoctrination: A History of Homophobia in Schools | Rowan Ellis
There has been a lot of controversy in the news recently regarding some parents and members of the public disagreeing with teaching children about the LGBTQ+ community in schools, with some parents even taking their children out of school because of their homophobic opinions.
Rowan Ellis shows in this video that this is just the latest in a long and awful history of homophobia when it comes to education. For years, people have been trying to “protect” children from the community and project homophobia on them.
I Said NO to EVERYTHING For 24 Hours! **BAD IDEA** | Kiera Bridget
Kiera Bridget has a bit of an impulse buying problem, so to combat this she’s embarked on a challenge for the day. She has to say no to absolutely everything, otherwise she has to cut up all her credit cards. While the challenge was intended to stop her spending, it went somewhere else.
Her friend, Michelle Platti, may have taken a little bit of an advantage of this challenge. She spent the day pretty much torturing Kiera, and even took her credit cards for an almost $200 shopping spree.
FTM Transgender – 3 Years on Testosterone | TheRealAlexBertie
Alex Bertie has officially been on testosterone for three years! In this video, he looks back on the years and the changes it’s had on his body and his life. Although he may be three years in, he’s still discovering new things about his body, mainly when it comes to hair growth. Honestly, we hope to see shaved shoulders on every YouTuber’s morning routine.
It’s really heartwarming just to see how happy it has made Alex to be on hormones and the difference it’s made in his life. Every person deserves to feel comfortable in their own body and sometimes it takes a journey to get there.
