The British music scene is pretty great.
We’d say the UK is home to many of music’s best and brightest. Many of our hometown artists have the voices, dance moves and lyrical talent to take them all the way to the top, and to say we’re proud would be an understatement. Don’t believe us? Let us provide you with some stellar examples: The 1975, Little Mix, The 1975, Jess Glynne, The 1975, Dua Lipa, The 1975… Need we go on?
Last night, the BRIT Awards 2019 dazzled our television screens and presented tons of musicians and bands with one of the finest accolades around. Some are household names, some are up-and-coming artists, and our fave YouTubers had a lot to say about the night. (Some even got to attend!) So, without further ado, let’s round everything up!
What. A. Look.
Your vanilla ice cream has arrived @BRITs
Thanku for inviting me @youtubemusic!!!! pic.twitter.com/TBSVKeJd6M
— SARAH CLOSE (@Sazclose) February 20, 2019
Can we all agree that Sarah Close is the queen of serving looks?
It’s all in the socks
I nearly wore my Jimin socks to the #BRITS so I could wave them around when they announce the noms for International Group
— ˗ˏˋ niki ˊˎ˗ (@NikiAlbon) February 20, 2019
We’re disappointed you didn’t actually wear your Jimin socks, Niki Albon. To be honest, we’re even more disappointed BTS wasn’t even nominated for International Group. Like, come on!
Doo doo doo doo doo doo

Thanks, Luke Franks. Now we’re going to have the Baby Shark song stuck in our heads all day.
What an inspiring performance
Honestly this Jess Glynn performance is INCREDIBLE. #Brits2019
— Grace ☾ (@GraceFVictory) February 20, 2019
If you were to ask us which performance was the most empowering, we’d definitely have to say the duet between Jess Glynne and H.E.R. – and we think Grace F. Victory would agree. The pair shared a powerful message about standing up against the standards placed upon women, showcasing solidarity with females around the world.
WE’RE SO PROUD
2 Brit Awards, 1 incredible live performance!
The 1975 killed it tonight! 😎🏆 #BRITS2019 pic.twitter.com/nhIQVtvy7q
— Brandon Wisdom (@BrandonWisdomYT) February 20, 2019
Brandon Wisdom (and pretty much everyone else on the internet) was pretty stoked about the two wins The 1975 had last night! We’re so proud of our boys!
Yes, yes, yes!
now jorja smith has won a second brit award can the great british public stop sleeping on her thank YOU x
— Jack Edwards (@jackbenedwards) February 20, 2019
THIS tweet, Jack Edwards! We can’t believe that Jorja Smith hasn’t blown up yet! Her music is SO good. We mean, have you listened to Lost & Found? It was easily one of the best albums of 2018!
We’re sadly not surprised
We not going to mention how little mix performed amazingly and the only thing the host said about it was something sexual? Nice one 👍🏻 #BRITS2019
— Sophie Foster ✨ (@Sophie_FosterXx) February 20, 2019
Yeah that’s cool, get a girl group to perform then just sexualise them, good one #BRITs
— Sophie Foster ✨ (@Sophie_FosterXx) February 20, 2019
We like Jack Whitehall, so, like Sophie Foster, we were pretty disappointed in what he had to say about Little Mix’s performance last night. There were so many aspects of that performance he could have commented on – it was seriously amazing – yet he chose to take the sexualising route… Disappointing.
YES, DIVERSITY!
Can we appreciate the ethnic diversity of the back up dancers in this 1975 performance 😍😍😍😍 #brits2019
— Jana Hisham (@JanaHisham) February 20, 2019
Like Jana Hisham, we LOVED how ethnically diverse The 1975’s performance was last night!
Ariana Grande’s had quite the year
She deserves all the awards tbh #BRITS2019 https://t.co/OW6S0Qgaq5
— Shelby 🖤 (@Shelbykinsxo) February 20, 2019
We don’t think there’s anyone who deserved this award more, Shelby Lynch. Ariana Grande has done so much over the past year. We would have been shocked (and upset) if anyone else took it home.
Endometriosis sucks
Thank you so much for your love. lil endo queen has survived another day. The resilience I find in me sometimes keeps me going. Even if I had to run to the bathroom four times because I thought I’d be sick I stayed til the bitter end of the Brits and I LOVED it. So grateful. 🙏
— Zoe London (@zoelondondj) February 20, 2019
Anyway what an awesome show! @BRITs – you smashed it! So proud of the amazing awards and so so honoured to have attended in person for my fifth year in a row. British music is a real great place to be atm and im fully inspired by these artists 🙌🏻🖤
— Zoe London (@zoelondondj) February 20, 2019
We felt so bad for Zoe London. She’s been very open about her struggles with endometriosis (a condition where endometrium tissue grows outside the uterus) and she unfortunately had to deal with the pain while in attendance at the BRITs.
Zoe, we hope you’re feeling better today (sending you lots of love), and we appreciate how open you are about your experience with this condition. We need more people like you who are willing to be open about this, so others dealing with the same thing know they aren’t alone.
So there you have it…
