“I need your help to make this record come to life” Melanie explains.
Melanie Baker announced the pledge drive on Facebook and Twitter on 3 February. She outlines in the posts that the project will need to raise £5,000 within 30 days to allow production to start.
SO my big news is that I am recording a new EP this year but I need your help to help me make it happen. I’ve just launched my first kickstarter to try and raise £5000 to put towards it. 💛https://t.co/PCdZuqTCxL

The songwriter explains on the donation page why this fundraising effort is so vital: “trying to raise £5,000 in only 30 DAYS is terrifying to me. And because of Kickstarter’s ‘All or Nothing’ rule if I don’t make the full amount, I don’t get anything. So whatever you can give, I will be immensely grateful.”
In return, Melanie is currently offering rewards for her fans. Some donation awards include personalised emails, merch bundles and exclusive behind-the-scenes videos.
Melanie has previously released the EPs Strangers and Dreamer.
