The competition is open to budding creators for the chance to win a full access pass to the February 2019 event.
The #ImACreator competition is being held for the second time in the run-up to the inaugural London event taking place from the 14 to the 17 of February at the ExCel London. Creators have an opportunity to showcase their creativity and celebrate the spirit and community of online video by producing a 1-minute video before the 23 January 2019 deadline.
The winner will receive a Full Access pass to VidCon London, which includes admission to all Community, Creator, and Industry Track programming across the weekend, including the Meet & Greet Lottery, which is open until the 22 January. The winning video will be screened on the mainstage during the main event.
There will also be five finalists, who will each receive a Creator Track passes and their videos will be posted across VidCon’s social media channels.
VidCon launched the contest last year as a way to give new creators an instant global showcase via their platform, and they invite everyone to participate.
To enter, follow @VidCon on Twitter, tweet a link to your video with the hashtag #ImACreator before 23rd January.
VidCon co-founder Hank Green said: “Our #ImACreator contest was born when we realized the explosive growth of the industry itself can make it harder for a new channel to stand out. I understand the passion that goes into each piece of content and want to encourage creators who are pushing boundaries, creating for underserved audiences, and/or making the world a better place with their content.”
VidCon has been the leading online video community event for ten years and will take place in London for the first time in 2019. Creators from across the world have been announced, including Marcus Butler, Hannah Witton, Jack Howard, Niki and Sammy, and Thomas ‘Tomska’ Ridgewell. Throughout the four-day event, fans will be treated to live on-stage performances, keynotes, panels, interactive experiences, and meet and greets featuring their favourite digital stars.
