HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
It’s bloody Christmas and we couldn’t be happier about it! The fire is on, the presents have all been wrapped (in tin foil, much easier) and the stretchy trousers are in use. May you eat well and be merry.
You must watch the following Christmas films:
- Jingle All The Way
- The Santa Clause
- Love Actually
- The Grinch
Have we missed any films? Those are our picks for must-sees – what are yours?
On with the Round-Up!
CHICKENSHIT (2018) – Short Film w/ Director’s Foreword. | sam angl
It’s true to say it’s been a long time since Sam Anghelides uploaded a video to YouTube. For many of us, it has been far too long. We in the know are aware he has done a lot of work for others in the meantime, but it’s great to see him back in front of the camera!
Chickenshit is the first piece to be “officially” directed by Sam, and the craft we’ve seen from his body of work can be seen in the university film. This whole thing can be seen as a midpoint between the vloggy version of Sam and the filmmaker Sam, so you can use this, in the future, as the entry point into a career that we hope to see blossom in front of our eyes.
Stealing Our Friend’s Brain Backup PRANK (GONE WRONG!!!) | Tom Scott
This is exquisitely done.
Imagine if there was a happy Black Mirror episode surrounding YouTube prank videos. Tom Scott has done that very thing. There is something so special about this video – the characters are drawn in a way that means you feel every single thing all at once. You hate them and are interested in them in one second. If this is the future of YouTube, you might want to be scared.
XO SECRET SANTA | XO
For Christmas, presents are not the most important thing, but it’s always fun to try and get people a gift that shows you know them. The boys of XO have done that very thing. A secret santa guessing game, featuring True Geordie, Laurence McKenna, Stephen Tries and Will Lenney. There are some joke presents, there are some really thoughtful presents and there are many ones in between. And, like a Shymalan film, there’s even a story with a twist right at the end.
Something for everyone at Christmas!
10 Most UNDERRATED Players Of The Year! | Football Daily
As 2018 comes to a close, looking back at the football we’ve had on offer in the last 12 months is a must, ranking players on how they have done, both for their team and personally too. This video from Football Daily gives us a list of the players who have done the best work, but haven’t had the recognition they deserve. Players from from as far as Italy and as close as Liverpool feature heavily.
This is a great list that really shines a light on athletes who haven’t had enough column inches on their performances in 2018.
THE WORST YOUTUBE MERCH YET (WATTBA) | bambinobecky
Becky James is back at it again with another episode in her What A Time To Be Alive series. It has been a while, so there’s a lot to catch up on. All sorts of treats behind each door of her BambinoBecky Advent Calendar, which is free* to anyone who wants it. The lightning pace of the jokes in this short video really shows off Becky’s immense talent for the funny. We musn’t forget that, of course, Tanya Burr is there, as we’ve come to expect. The old ones are the best!
*Sacrifice of family necessary for purchase.

Travelling is hard enough when all you have to do is remember to pack enough pants to last the duration of your all-inclusive stay. On top of that, being a freelancer and having to work at the drop of a hat if necessary. Joe Binder is here to talk us through his tips and tricks for travelling as a entrepreneur or freelancer.
End of year lists are something that we’ve all become accustomed to, whether it be films or lipsticks or crisps. Simon Miller is here with his list of the Best Games of 2018. There are surprises on this list, welcome ones that make it much more interesting than most people’s countdowns. However, when you get to the business of the 10, the names start to get very familiar. It goes to show just how great a year it was for so many games.
Sarah Close is back, channelling her inner Mariah Carey by releasing a Christmas song. This Christmas shows Sarah’s voice off and it is always wonderful to hear her sing, especially about the festive season. It’s a simple song with a piano doing most of the work, in terms of musicality. It leaves plenty of room to show us just what she can do. A must listen.
Liam Dryden hasn’t uploaded much in 2018, but when he has, he has done so in a way that shows us why we love to watch him. It’s no different this time around, with his dulcet Scottish tones giving us the lowdown on how he has spent his time while not uploading YouTube videos. Liam’s online output can be used as a very interesting case study into the migration patterns of community. Nowadays, he finds himself on Twitch, with a dedicated audience he has a healthy relationship with. You seem happy, Liam, and we look forward to seeing what you’ve got coming up.
