Well done, Joe Sugg!
This weekend saw the final of Strictly Come Dancing 2018 and, with that, the public coronation of the Internet’s Champion, Joe Sugg. He performed incredibly throughout the entire competition. However, he was unable to pick up the coveted Glitterball Trophy, losing out to television presenter Stacey Dooley.
We here at TenEighty HQ are so proud of what Joe achieved over the past few months. He represented YouTube in such a great way throughout the whole process, showing the wider world the best of what the internet has to offer!
On with the Round-Up!
Unforeseen Consequences: A Half-Life Documentary | Noclip
There are few games that have had the lasting cultural impact the Half Life games have. A lot of what we play in 2018 can be traced back to the shift the first game created in the first person shooter genre. Danny O’Dwyer is one of those people who has a relationship with the game series to a degree that he wanted to create a documentary about it.
Throughout the documentary, he talks to many in the industry, such as Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Studios (Borderlands) and Cory Barlog from Santa Monica Studios (God of War), and his love for it comes through in spades. Do not think this is a complete love-in, with Randy specifically talking about his chequered history with the game and Valve, the company behind it.
The Problem With LGBT History | Rowan Ellis
History is something that can be troublesome for everyone, as it, for the most part, has been written by the victors. Rowan Ellis is here to talk about the catch-up queer history has to do, especially when looking at times before Stonewall in the 1960s. After watching this video, it can be said that it is key to teach a wider breadth of history in schools around the world. However, the issues with that are posited by Rowan herself, speaking about the dirth of imagery that would support queer love through the ages.
As with so many of her videos, this is a fascinating piece that really speaks on a subject in a way that is informative and engaging, preaching inclusivity in a way that we here at TenEighty adore.
MEET YOUTUBE’S WORST “MILLIONAIRE VLOGGER” | JaackMaate
Jack Dean has just crossed the threshold of one million subscribers. He has done this by showcasing his many talents, including bemoaning fellow creators who do a number of things, including losing touch with reality. In this video, he brings a new person to our attention, Bobby Misner, a millionaire who wouldn’t know hardship if it peed in his porridge.
Bobby’s video is made to try and show his story and his “grind” to get where he is. It ends up just showing him to be out of touch with the real world. Everyone will know that this sort of content is prime picking for Jack to do his thing, and he does not disappoint!
The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch | Tom Fletcher
The Fletchers are at it again!
This time around, it’s Tom Fletcher with an announcement video on his latest book, The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch, the sequel to his smash hit, The Christmasaurus, which also has a musical version. This video has an incredible CGI dinosaur that wouldn’t look out of place in a movie.
We can’t wait to revisit the world of William Trundle and find out about the time-bending powers of the Winter Witch! Congrats on the new book, Tom.
UNDERCOVER As A RACIST OLD MAN PRANK | Niko Omilana
Have you heard of Brexit? We’re going to assume you have, mostly because we dont particularly want to talk about it in great detail. For obvious (and dumb) reasons, people with associations to groups like the EDL (English Defence League) would like to leave the European Union. Niko Omilana has had his fair share of run ins with the EDL and thought it best to go and get Tommy Robinson to endorse his own NDL. (Niko Defence League.)
However, for reasons that you should watch the video to find out, Niko can’t be Niko doing it this time around, so, with the help of George “Memeulous” Andrew and an old man mask, he tries to infiltrate one of the Leave marches in London to find Mr. Robinson. Watch the video to see what happens!

2018 has been defined by a lot of things, not all of them positive. One great thing, however, is The Greatest Showman. It hasn’t left the charts since it opened at the beginning of the year. Samantha Harvey is here with a cover of Rewrite the Stars, one of the songs that will make you teary – and this version is no different. Her voice is wonderful to listen to normally, let alone singing a song as emotional and heartfelt as this.
Ariana Grande’s thank u, next has permeated the zeitgeist in a way that most people could only dream of. Eve Cornwell has done her own version of the phenom, this one squarely aimed at the lawyers and law students amongst us! It’s such a funny video that deserves your view! Wonderfully creative, we’re wondering which song could be next for a law parody?
What do you do if you’ve climbed all the tall buildings in London? If you’re Harry Gallagher, you go further afield and delve into Europe instead. This time around, he is climbing the tallest chimney in the whole continent. Yes, it looks as terrifying as it sounds. It is a staggering feat of strength and, most of all, bravery. The imagery is beautiful as well, which is a part of his videos that is sorely undervalued with each upload. Here’s to more!
Some people love Christmas, some are a bit of a Grinch about the whole thing. Sophie Foster is here to make her boyfriend a literal green-faced Grinch! We’ve seen her do all sorts of amazing things with makeup in the past and this one is no different, with him ending up looking like Jim Carrey himself. Dr. Seuss would be proud!
