Draw on your Sharpie whiskers, it’s time for some mischief.
Way back in 2009, YouTube fans from far and wide were treated to the start of a series that would go down as one of the most iconic in the site’s history: Phil is not on fire. A compilation of clips of Daniel Howell and Phil Lester acting, well, like Daniel Howell and Phil Lester while donning some pretty stylish cat whiskers, it’s a video that resonated with the Phandom in a way no video had done before.
Numerous videos and Sharpie markers later, we’ve hit a milestone with the recent release of Phil is not on fire 10. To help mark such a momentous occasion, we thought we’d share some of our favourite moments from the video. Prepare for a phantastic time!
The giant Sharpie whiskers come from within
We have two questions after watching this part of the video:
1) Just how much money did these two spend on buying large cardboard cutouts of Sharpie markers?
2) Why are we even surprised?
Gotta stay relevant, lads
This was Dan’s face upon seeing how terrifying Mr. Mime looks in the new Detective Pikachu trailer. It’s truly the stuff of nightmares. *shiver*
The punch that broke the internet
We didn’t think Phil would actually punch Dan in the face, but after seeing it we’re left wondering if the internet’s favourite cynic is okay. Did anyone else gasp in shock?!
We wouldn’t be surprised if these two go up against each other during the next big YouTube boxing match.
The brain is an interesting place
We’re not exactly sure what Phil was trying to convey during this part of the video. Is he trying to tell us that his brain is filled with people doing jazz hand, or is this how he communicates with his home planet?
The make out session
We’re honestly at a loss for words after having watched Dan seductively lick this plant… Yep, we can’t think of anything else to say on the matter.
The Ribena challenge: take two
Last year, Phil tried his attempt at the Ribena challenge, and his year it was Dan’s turn. It looks like the boys still need to work on their twerking skills.
Roast your BFF
A friendly reminder that Phil is simply too pure to properly roast someone and the best he could come up with was, “Dan, what did you drop on the floor? Your cringe card?” Seriously, he’s just too cute.
EEK!
Dan and Phil’s reactions to the unexpected appearance of a bug is basically how we would react. Is it a daddy longlegs? What’s with all the limbs and wings? SOMEONE KILL IT NOW!
He really has a giant rubber duck
In one simple shot, Dan and Phil fulfilled the dreams of thousands of phangirls worldwide.
A blast from the past
We totally forgot how much we missed the pair’s emo fringes! While we love their new ‘dos, we couldn’t help but feel nostalgic during this part of the video. Anyone else feel like it’s the early 2010s?
