The hilarious JaackMaate has reached one million subscribers.
There are many milestones in a YouTuber’s career, from uploading their first video to releasing merch. However, one of the biggest milestones of them all is reaching one million subscribers. It’s a dream some hold near and dear to their heart, and it’s exactly the goal Jack Dean reached this past week, allowing him to achieve something he’s wanted since making his channel in 2008.
From his comedy sketch beginnings to his evolution into one of the most brutal and honest channels on YouTube, Jack’s channel had grown significantly over the years, cementing him as one of the site’s top creators. Since he’s reached such a huge milestone, we thought we’d celebrate by sharing some of our favourite videos from his channel. It’s time for our Five of the Best: JaackMaate Videos!
KARMA’S CAUGHT YA’ – BRUTAL DISS TRACK | JaackMaate
Diss tracks are a genre of videos that have exploded on YouTube over the past few years, so we decided to kick off this week’s Five of the Best with one of the more brutally honest ones: Karma’s Caught Ya’.
While Jack is a bit late to the Roast Yourself Challenge, we’ll give him a pass because of how well this track is written and produced. Featuring him giving himself a taste of his own medicine (that was a weird sentence to write), this video packs quite a few zingers and even more punches. We mean, did you hear the line about his hair and beard? OUCH. We didn’t know the Monopoly man was so talented.
ZOELLA’S £50 ADVENT CALENDAR | HONEST, BRUTAL REVIEW | JaackMaate
We couldn’t not include the video that launched Jack’s channel into the eyes of many. Back in 2017, fellow YouTuber Zoe Sugg teamed up with Boots to release an Advent calendar, which wasn’t met with the best of responses from the public. Many shared their opinions on the calendar, including Jack.
This viral video currently sits at just over 4.2 million views and features Jack sharing his own scorching review of the calendar, along with the reviews of those who purchased it. This is one of the more brutally honest videos on Jack’s channel and it mixes in his unique and hilarious brand of comedy to create one of the best videos of 2017.
REACTING TO MY PRIVATE VIDEOS | JaackMaate
One of the most popular genres on YouTube is reaction videos, and some of our favourites are when creators react to their own videos. Every creator has uploaded content they’re embarrassed of, but only a few of them are brave enough to rewatch the videos and roast them for their viewers to see. Jack is one of the brave few and we thank him ever so much for uploading this video.
Did you know that back in the day Jack was a comedy sketch creator? Well, “comedy” might be a bit subjective… But, hey, we have to give him a round of applause for persevering in an attempt to be the next big comedy sketch creator. His videos might not have been that funny, but at least he tried. A for effort, Jack. A for effort.
OFFENSIVE JOKES WITH RICKY GERVAIS | JaackMaate
Fans of Jack’s channel will know the YouTuber has delved into the podcast sphere a few times. His first, The JaackMaate Podcast, saw Jack interviewing the likes of Jack Howard and Josh Pieters, and he currently hosts the Happy Hour Podcast alongside Stevie White and Alex Elmslie. For this Five of the Best, we decided to include our all-time favourite podcast episode: the time Jack interviewed comedian Ricky Gervais.
We know Ricky and Jack are pretty much BFFs, so it didn’t surprise us when he made an appearance on The JaackMaate Podcast. What we didn’t expect was how entertaining and interesting the chat was going to be between the pair. Throughout the podcast, we see them discuss pretty much everything under the sun, from strange videos on YouTube and the site’s culture, to American politics and what exactly is inside a pork pie.
ROASTING MY VIEWERS | EPISODE 1 | JaackMaate
Closing out this extra special Five of the Best is the start of a video series we’ve come to love more than our own families: ROASTING MY VIEWERS. Everyone knows we’re always up for a good roasting – we’re pros at it ourselves – so it was obvious this series would fast become one of our favourites. Our only complaint is that Jack has yet to upload a video of other YouTubers roasting him. THAT would be something for the ages!
We’re honestly surprised Jack didn’t launch this series earlier, given he has one of the best senses of humour on YouTube. This video is filled with loads of hilarious (and true) roasts we can take and use on our own friends. It even includes a roast of fellow creator Roly West, which we felt was pretty spot on. Claire’s called, they’re asking for their accessories back!

Our Five of the Best: JaackMaate Videos! It’s been an amazing 10 years and we’ve loved being along for the journey, watching both Jack and his channel evolve. We’re glad he was able to reach the milestone he’s always dreamed of, and you know what they say: first one million subscribers, then the world!
