There’s nothing better than attending a live gig.
Being surrounded by tons of people who love live music as much as you, getting your hands on some sick merch, losing your voice from singing along to song after song… Seriously, there is nothing better, and that’s what fans all cross America got to experience during dodie‘s most recent US tour!
It’s been a hot minute since those in the US got to experience dodie’s music live and in person, so we knew before it even started that this tour was going to be one to remember – and gauging from the tweets, that’s exactly what it was! Since we couldn’t be there in person, we thought the next best thing would be to round-up some of our favourite moments from it, as shared through social media.
Here they are: our seven favourite moments from dodie’s US tour!
1. When dodie was the worst friend ever
in 2017 I accidentally called my cellist Sophie “Claire” onstage
Today I introduced the whole band and forgot Sophie
am I the worst friend ever?

Anyone who’s been following dodie’s tour adventures for any length of time will be aware she doesn’t have the greatest track record when it comes to talking about her cellist, Sophie, onstage. During the Intertwined tour, she accidentally called her “Claire”. However, that’s not half as bad as this tour, when during one of the shows she actually FORGOT to introduce her!
dodie, what has Sophie done to you?!
2. When we worried about Manager Josh’s sanity
one of my favourite memories of @_JOSHEDWARDS_ is him walking around the venue using a one dollar bill as a phone and having a seemingly serious conversation
— dodie (@doddleoddle) September 29, 2018
We have so many questions surrounding this tweet, Josh Edwards:
1) Why were you using a one dollar bill as a phone – just who were you trying to avoid?
2) Would you say it has better reception than the new iPhone?
3. The Crazy Human Psycho Crush mashup
While on tour, dodie released this gorgeous mashup featuring singles from herself, Lauren Aquilina, Orla Gartland and Tessa Violet. If you thought these four were talented before, just wait until you give this a listen! They blend the songs so seamlessly and we were left feeling envious and in awe of their talent!
4. How inclusive dodie’s merch is
me: shannon did u pick out what u want from my merch@barry_happy: yes, I only got the sweater though. All of your other merch is pretty gay
(my other merch is a tshirt with a rainbow on it with lyrics about being gay and a tote bag with lyrics on it… about being gay)
— dodie (@doddleoddle) September 29, 2018
We stan a queen whose merch promotes the LGBTQ+ community, so to hear most of the merch dodie was selling was “about being gay” (to use her own words) made us feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
5. Orla’s obsession with ironing
here’s all the times she’s mentioned the iron in the WhatsApp group pic.twitter.com/FgJXXWWOe9

Everyone has quirks – they’re what make us unique – but they’re not always things we regularly share. That’s why we’re glad we have dodie, who was kind enough to share with us that Orla is completely and utterly obsessed with ironing. How obsessed, you ask? Not only has she mentioned it numerous times in the tour’s group chat, she’s also resorted to using hair curlers when an iron wasn’t available. Now that’s dedication.
6. When the crew stormed the stage during Tessa’s set

The best moments of any tour are definitely the end-of-tour pranks. They make final shows stick out in the memories of attendees and we love how creative musicians get with them. For this tour, dodie and her crew decided to storm the stage during Tessa’s set and have a dance party, which we’re safe to say surprised (and excited) those watching – was anyone else blown away by their screams?
7. The post-tour trip to Universal Studios
this is silly pic.twitter.com/Rx3lvWWdtR

It’s always been a dream of ours to visit Universal Studios in Florida. Sure, everyone loves Disney, but the place to be is definitely Universal. Not only does it feature The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but it’s also home to Springfield, where you can meet characters from The Simpsons and visit Moe’s.
We’ve been loving the photos dodie’s been posting of her post-tour adventures there!
We would have given anything to attend this tour!
Who else is uber jealous of dodie’s American fans right now? From the looks of it, her US tour was a resounding success and one of her best yet! If only there had been a way for us to have been in America to witness it firsthand. Guess that means we’ll have to be sure to catch her on next year’s Human tour!
