What a weekend it’s been!
We’re only now just catching our breath after flying across the pond to Toronto, Canada for the sixth annual Buffer Festival! This was our fourth year attending the event and it was by the far best yet, from the videos and creators, to the amazingly put together Gala Award Show! As a result, we’re struggling to keep our eyes opening while writing this, but it was totally worth it.
However, that’s not to say we didn’t have time to scour the depths of Twitter whilst in the land of maple syrup and poutine. When we weren’t covering the various screenings, you could find us on our phones, looking for the best tweets to feature in this edition of Tweets of the Week. From cooking mishaps to strange Amazon recommendations, we think it’s safe to say we’ve done a pretty good job.
Cooking mishaps aplenty
Cooked a chilli tonight but melted the spatula onto the side of the pan #blindgirlproblems. I may just stick to the slow cooker! 🤦♀️
— Lucy Edwards (@lucyedwards) September 27, 2018
If you think that’s bad, Lucy Edwards, we once set a bagel on fire while trying to defrost it in the microwave… We’re not quite sure how we managed that, but let’s just say that’s why we’re always ordering takeout.
The Prefects bathroom
If someone wants to make a spa that is a perfect replica of the Hogwarts Prefects’ bathroom, I’d give you a great deal of custom.
— Daniel J. Layton (@DanielJLayton) September 24, 2018
Pretty much everyone at some point has dreamed of having a bathroom as amazing as the Prefects at Hogwarts, Daniel J. Layton included. (It’s just soooooo nice.)
The Queen will resurrect us
Play Lady Gaga Alejandro in the year 3047 and I will rise from my grave so fast.
— Lilly Ashton ⭐️ ᵐᵒᵗʰᶜᵘᵇ (@cubmoth) September 28, 2018
We think this is true for pretty much everyone on the internet, Lilly Ashton. Lady Gaga is QUEEN.
Those Amazon recommendations
the saga continues pic.twitter.com/k1vapQGMuK
— Phil Lester (@AmazingPhil) September 30, 2018
We’re sure we’re not the only ones concerned about why Amazon is recommending Phil Lester buy a yodelling pickle and a life-size velociraptor. However, at the same time, we’re not at all surprised.
Cats are sacred
if a cat chooses to sit on you and fall asleep, you’d better not move for anything. you’re the chosen one. i don’t care if you’re uncomfy, the cat is and that’s all that matters pic.twitter.com/v9hgHJq5so

PREACH, GABRIELLA LINDLEY, PREACH.
When you hang up on your grandchildren
tried to call my grandma to wish her happy birthday and she goes “hello sorry darling i’m having my hair done can you call back in an hour” and just hangs up
um
— Daniel Howell (@danielhowell) September 26, 2018
We can pretty much guarantee we’re going to be just like Daniel Howell‘s grandmother when we’re older.
It’s an important question
The most important question to ask before dating someone: what is your Hogwarts House?
Maybe this is why I’m single.
(Nah, I’m just waiting for the right Wizard. There’s a lot of mud-bloods out there.)
— Cherry Wallis (@CherryWallis) September 30, 2018
We think it’s a very important question to ask if you’re looking to date someone, Cherry Wallis. Someone’s house is a pretty good indicator on whether or not they can be trusted. (We’re looking at you, Slytherins.)
That face mask tho
What have I been doing? Well… pic.twitter.com/3rMMlD1SQI
— Gary C (@oohgaryc) September 26, 2018
We need that Minnie Mouse face mask more than we’ve ever needed anything in our entire lives. Where did you get it, Gary C?!
YASSSS
One of the things I enjoy about Twitter is seeing how sassy people get with their gifs 😂 Gotta love a feisty comeback! pic.twitter.com/S6O1awINJd
— 🍥Sammy🍥 (@synthpopcircus) September 24, 2018
Same, Sammy Scott! We love when the tea is spilt and Twitter comes alive with some sassy GIFs.
Umm…
Pretended to be a kid who wanted chips, my dad (played by Bertie) said I couldn’t so I threw a shit fit and started jumping on the bed, I took my shirt and jeans off and started yelling “I WANT CHIPS” and my dad started to have a heart attack and I ignored him and kept bouncing.
— Dean Dobbs (@DeanDobbs) September 29, 2018
We’re honestly not quite sure what we just read, Dean Dobbs, and we’re also not sure how to respond. (We do hope Bertie Gilbert is okay, though.)
