“You are the raw material that the next teenagers have been waiting for.”
In Leena Normington‘s latest video, she writes a poem dedicated to us with a reminder to keep creating, no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in.
Straight away we can tell that this poem comes from a personal place in Leena’s heart as it feels quite intimate. It tells us that art can come in many shapes and forms, it isn’t just a drawing or a painting but can be as simple as a joke and a smile. “Because when the world bends back on itself, every heart will need art tailor-made for them.”
This video really encourages us to keep producing our art and content because one day it may be all we have. What we create connects us to others and enlightens us when everything else is gone. When there is nothing else left to do, we can create.
Alongside the poem, Leena features a lot of incredible art from a number of talented artists which really drives the message of the poem home for us. From storyboarding and dance to illustrations and poetry, each piece of art shown is so very different and represents each different artists’ feelings, talents, experiences, and backgrounds. It truly inspires everyone watching to take note of the poem and create their own unique piece of art.
