Can you believe Summer in the City is only a few days away!
We’d be lying if we said we hadn’t been looking forward to this weekend all year. The meet and greets, the panels, the craft fair… Honestly, there’s so much happening at this year’s event that we can’t even begin to name it all. We’re super stoked, and we hope you are too!
If you’re like us, being excited about an upcoming event often makes time appear as if it’s slowed down, and when we say slowed down, we mean to a snail’s pace. That’s why we’re here to help pass the time, with the help of a few of our faves. From numerous tweets about the heat to the fun that is no context selfies, this edition of Tweets of the Week has more than enough to keep you entertained, and hopefully pass the time.
Let’s jump into it!
Now THAT’S a look

We don’t think Houssein Guney has looked so good!
Why is it so hot?!
body: ?? wet?? sweating??
me: no no, just wet. Drying off now
body: sweating. is hot. keep sweat

When the heat’s so bad you can’t tell whether you’re sweating or if you’re body’s wet because you just got out of the shower. Liam Dryden knows the struggle.
Love Island‘s #1 fan

We knew Josh Edwards was a fan of Love Island, but we didn’t know he was this dedicated.
Apparently it's #nationalsisterday. On this momentous occasion, I would like to congratulate myself for tolerating my two big sisters (and my twin brother, for that matter) for the last 30 years. I'm a saint. 👼 pic.twitter.com/9vyzCIS2Mg
— Jim Chapman (@JimChapman) August 6, 2018
Everyone knows the whole point of National Sister Day is to congratulate ourselves on having to tolerate our siblings, just as Jim Chapman had to do growing up with Sam and John Chapman and Nicola Haste.
I just saw a woman walking her kitten in the park. I AM SO HAPPY HERE 🌈☀️🏳️🌈

People walking their cats?! Brighton sounds like our kind of town, and it appears Rose Dix agrees!
Carbonated fruit drink – really?
Dr Pepper being described on the can as a “carbonated FRUIT drink” gives me trust issues.
— JaackMaate (@Jaack) August 4, 2018
We don’t think the creators of Dr. Pepper have ever actually tasted it, and we feel Jack Dean would agree. If it tastes like anything, it’s a blend of Buckley’s medicine and fizzy water…
We can relate
Me: “Right. I’ve sat around long enough. Time to get up and finish the task at hand.”

We relate to Daniel J. Layton on a spiritual level.
Satan’s fires from Hell
I was going to exercise today but since Satan is visiting and he brought all the fires from Hell with him I think I’ll pass thanks
— ˗ˏˋ niki ˊˎ˗ (@NikiAlbon) August 3, 2018
Was Satan bringing all the fires from Hell really the reason you didn’t want to exercise, Niki Albon? We find that the fires from Hell give us that extra push we need.
JK, we don’t exercise. That would mean actually exerting energy, which we’re totally against.

You’ve only been a joy for 17 years

How much of a terror must you have been during the first two years of your life, Emi Salida?
So there you have it…
