Ollie Walker discusses the World Cup and the England squad’s chances.
In case you didn’t know, it’s coming home and by ‘it’, we mean football. England are through to the semi-finals of the World Cup and (not to jinx it) it looks like we have a good shot at winning for the first time since 1966! Football enthusiast, Ollie Walker, just cannot contain his excitement in his latest video.
After a rousing rendition of Three Lions and a few other songs he talks about how, originally, he wasn’t too optimistic for England’s chances in the World Cup, predicting that they would only reach the quarter-finals at the most.
But now, everything has changed and Ollie thinks they might just do it. He even recounts how he ran out to buy himself an England shirt to celebrate. Unfortunately, there was no ‘coming home’ discount.
He praises the squad’s performance so far, especially in comparison to our performance in the last World Cup, in which England got knocked out in the group stages. Ollie even goes as far as to say that they could be the best England squad ever in a World Cup!
However, he does share his lack of faith when it comes to the England team and penalties. We certainly don’t have the best track record… But after seeing how well England performed during the penalty shootout against Colombia, Ollie, as well as most of the country, have their full trust in this squad.
Ollie is so confident in England’s chances that he even said that he will get the three lions tattooed on himself if they win. We’re holding you to that, Ollie. Here’s hoping football finally comes home.
