Have you ever met someone so precious you would do anything to protect them? We sure have.
Who might this person be, you ask? Why, Connie Glynn, of course! Since 2013, Connie has been sharing her adorable and quirky personality through her YouTube channel, and we’ve grown to really care about our little sugar plum – and we’re not the only ones who do. Through her incredible impressions, music, book series and cosplays, she’s amassed a tight-knit and caring community who love her just as much as we do. Because of this, we decided it was about time we dedicate an article to her and all she’s accomplished.
Here they are, our nine favourite Noodlerella moments!
Her impressions
It probably comes as no surprise that many of Connie’s subscribers first discovered her through her impressions videos, and, honestly, how could they not subscribe after watching them? We personally think Connie’s one of the best impressionists on YouTube and she’s not shy about showing off her talent, as she’s posted many videos on her channel featuring characters from Disney, various anime shows, Nickelodeon – we could go on.
Who else thinks she and Joe Sugg should go head-to-head in an impressions off? We know, the name could use some work, but it would be so cool!
Her Trollz cameo
If you happened to watch the UK release of Trollz, then you would have heard a familiar voice. Connie, along with fellow creator Carrie Hope Fletcher, made a cameo in the film, voicing her very own character! She was able to voice the pink-tastic Moxie Dewdrop, which we think totally matches Connie’s aesthetic.
We got chills hearing her voice in the movie, and we hope she does more voiceover work in the future… Who else would love to see her voice a Disney princess one day?
Heart Eater
We all know Connie loves to sing, given the amount of covers on her channel, but did you know she’s started releasing her own original music?
This past April, she released her debut single, Heart Eater, which is a total bop and a half. It’s futuristic pop sound is infectious and, overall, the song is totally something we could see Connie releasing – we wouldn’t expect anything else from her. We were blasting it throughout the office when it first came out and it now features regularly on our playlists.
Recently, Connie released her new single, titled Video Boy, which is just as addictive as Heart Eater, if not more so. It has an 80s vibe that we are HERE for. As well, the video features some pretty good voguing from Kelsey Ellison. #DancingHermione has some moves!
Cosplay
Given that Connie’s life pretty much revolves around all things pop culture, such as anime, Disney, movies and video games, it should come as no surprise to learn she’s pretty much nailed the cosplay game. Whether it’s getting geared up for the latest con or simply dressing up for fun, Connie’s able to transform herself into the coolest of characters, from Princess Zelda and Harley Quinn, to Sailor Moon and Big Hero 6‘s Honey Lemon.
Hey, Connie, would you mind giving us some pointers on how to make our next cosplay look pop? We can never seem to get it just right.
When she was nominated for a Kids’ Choice Award
It’s always cool when our faves are nominated for awards, so you bet we were excited to hear that Connie had been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award back in 2016. Seriously, you should have seen the office. There was tons of cheering and some of us even threw our papers in the air in celebration. (What? We’re very passionate about our favourite YouTubers.)
Connie was nominated alongside Cherry Wallis, Raphael Gomes, Chai Cameron, Sam King and Jazzybum for UK Favourite Breakthrough Vlogger. It was a pretty good list of nominees – we watch each religiously – and, in the end, Cherry Wallis ended up taking home the orange blimp. Congrats, again, Cherry!
The Rosewood Chronicles
In early 2017, Connie announced she would be releasing her very own book series, titled The Rosewood Chronicles. The series, which will feature five books, follows schoolgirl Lottie Pumpkin as she impersonates a princess looking to live the normal life of a teenager. From there, it’s set to follow the adventures of herself, Princess Ellie and their friend, James.
The first book in the series, Undercover Princess, was released last September. Recently, Connie announced the second, Princess in Practice, would be released this coming September, with pre-orders already available. We can’t wait to read what happens next!
Her love of Disney
We don’t think there’s anything Connie loves more than Disney. Seriously, everywhere we turn “Disney” is in bright, shiny letters.
One look at Connie’s channel shows just how strong her love is. Not only are the majority of the videos on her main and side channels surrounding Disney, but you’ll often find her visiting one of the world’s many Disney parks, showing off her extensive pin collection (we’re so jelly), dawning some adorable mouse ears and blowing everyone away with her aforementioned impressions.
Oh, how we’d love to spend the day chatting about Disney with her.
When she dyed her hair pink
Is there anyone else who thinks Connie’s pink hair was ICONIC, because we certainly do!
We never knew we could fall in love with a hair colour, but we simply couldn’t get enough of Connie’s pink locks. The colour suited her so well and it made her look even more like a Disney princess. (Which we didn’t think was possible!) Seriously, Disney, what do we have to do to make Connie your next princess?
Her mermaid photoshoot
A few weeks ago, Connie teamed up with fine arts photographer Linda Blacker for this mermaid-themed photoshoot. In a set of four photos, Linda transformed Connie into the mermaid Pearl, the guardian in charge of keeping her people safe from humankind.
We can’t even begin to explain how much we love the photos that came out of this shoot. Linda pays such close attention to detail (Connie’s mermaid tale is an actual fish’s tale) and Connie pulls off the mermaid look perfectly. Makes us wish we could transform into mermaids ourselves. *nudge* Linda *nudge*
