Alfie will be joined by actress Jorgie Porter, long jumper Greg Rutherford and MC Big Narstie on a team captained by Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes.
While no official announcement has been made by Alfie, in a post on Twitter earlier this month the YouTuber said: “Today was sooo [sic] sick!! Can’t wait for you to see the tv episode.”
The tweet then led fans to believe that the creator would be starring in a new series of the show.
Originally aired in the 1990s, the format returned in 2016 for a one-off special for Stand Up to Cancer.
The show was then rebooted last year, with The IT Crowd‘s Richard Ayoade replacing comedian Stephen Merchant, and Richard O’Brien as Maze Master.
In the show, contestants face physical, mental, skill or mystery challenges across four themed zones, all with the aim of collecting crystals.
The crystals are then used for a timed challenge at the end of the show in the Crystal Dome, where teams have the potential to win a cash prize.
The celebrity specials of the classic gameshow will start on Channel 4 in June.
