With summer just around the corner, Carly Rowena shares her tips and tricks for getting into the best shape possible.
Responding to a common question from her viewers, in her video 5 Secrets To Being Healthy, Carly Rowena shares what she does to keep healthy, not just for the summer, but all year round.
She starts off by making sure we are aware this is not some fad diet, but rather tips and tricks on “learning to feel your best at all times,” something we at TenEighty are all about.
As she asserts, “nothing is easy,” especially when making a lifestyle change. Carly makes a big emphasis on making sure to plan your time. Scheduling time to eat is important and she shares how you should be balancing your plate, from how much protein you need, to the carbs. It is all about being more mindful about what you put on your plate.
Aside from the food, another point Carly emphasises is movement. Not one for going to spin classes or forcing yourself to go to the gym? Neither are we! Instead, Carly encourages you to focus on the small ways you can move during your daily routine. She says that “sitting down with your diary and figuring out when you can fit in a 10 minute, 30 minute or an hour work out” is ideal. It is safe to say this got our attention and we will be trying to fit those 10 minute workouts in when we can.
She goes on to say that small bursts of movement, such as “during a TV ad break while the kids are watching something,” can make a difference to how you feel and your overall health. It may seem minimal but we will take Carly’s word for it when she says “you don’t have to be sweating it out to be moving.” As she mentions, “if you have time to scroll or watch the TV or go on the internet, you have time to move your body.” You’ve got us there…
Being healthy all the time is not some mad science. It is about about “finding that balance between moving your body and finding food that leaves you feeling good from the inside out.” By not eating or exercising properly we are more prone to feeling anxious, depressed or just generally low.
The five tips may seem daunting at first but the aim is for them to become second nature. As Carly says “in five days you guys will be messaging me telling me you feel amazing.” If that doesn’t convince you that these tips do actually work and are not some health fad, we don’t know what will!
