It’s a bank holiday and it’s also SUNNY. Be careful out there!
Kanye West has continued to say progressively dumber and dumber things as a way of getting publicity for his new music. The choice has been made for us to no longer talk about him and focus on the good. On that note, Childish Gambino appeared on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, with 80’s Music Video and his musical performances being standouts. He also released new music and its visual can only be described as ART of the highest order. Enjoy this Song of the Week!
PSYCH! You don’t think we’d forget one of our own?! The man Troye Sivan is back with Bloom and it’s incredible. It reminds us of his first album, Blue Neighbourhood, while keeping it fresh and different enough to show growth! We love it, Troye – keep killing it!
Here’s to artistry and the impact of creatives on the world. On with the Round-Up!
Easy eco friendly swaps that even I can do. | leena norms
We could all do more to look after this here Earth we live on. Single-use plastic is something that’s a hot-button topic right now, with a lot of legislation being brought in to combat the pollution that non-biodegradable plastics create.
Leena Normington is one person doing her bit for the environment in ways we could all learn a great deal from. In this video, she shows us everyday products made from materials such as bamboo instead of the plastics that end up in the ocean.
This is a great video for anyone looking to start doing their bit to make the world a better place. It damn sure needs it. Thanks, Leena, we’re off to bulk-buy toilet paper for all our friends!
THE END OF AN ERA | bambinobecky
Age is just a number, but the tick over to the next one every 365 days can be a time to reflect and reassess the trajectory of one’s life. Becky James has just turned 20. The big two-oh. No longer one of the relatable teens, she’s now a fully-fledged adult with all that that brings.
In this video, Becky reacts to comments from viewers about the fact she’s now apparently a grandma. (Her viewers are still in nappies by the sounds of it!) Becky is funny, and this is a video that shows off her humour in a great way.
Happy birthday, and here’s to many more!
XO LIE DETECTOR TEST | XO
All of us in Britain have at least heard of Would I Lie to You?, the panel show where one person reads a statement and others have to decide if it’s a truth or a lie. The boys of XO – The True Geordie, Laurence McKenna, Will Lenney, and Stephen Tries – all give it a go in this video, trying to dupe each other with the level of funny we’ve come to expect from them.
We won’t spoil it for you, but it’s safe to say that Stephen’s statement is one that paints a picture we won’t quickly forget.
How Rome Nearly Conquered The Whole Of Europe | COPA90
For the uninitiated amongst you, this football season’s Champions League has been a real doozy. There’s been a lot of goals, a lot of misery, a lot of upsets, and one incredible comeback. That comeback was A.S. Roma against FC Barcelona coming back from 4-1 down to win on away goals in the second leg in the quarter-final.
The way that Roma have conducted themselves on the European stage has put them at the forefront of all that represents engaging football. In this video, COPA90 (in conjunction with Top Eleven Tactics) break down why this team has been so good this season, showing how the tactics they employ resulted in club-defining results.
With these sorts of videos, COPA90’s approach really puts them a cut above the rest. We’re looking forward to many more!
LIFE IS A STAGE | Motivational Video | Steven Bartlett
Steven Bartlett is the CEO of Social Chain, which has grown to be “one of the world’s most notorious social-first marketing agencies”. Being a world-renowned CEO means he has the platform to inspire a whole generation of people looking to create their own startups. He knows social like no-one else, so it would stand to reason that he would use YouTube as an avenue to reach as many people as possible.
This video’s title tells you what you need to know. Steven reminds us, the viewer, that being comfortable means you aren’t growing. “Growth moments” are what make us who we are. Do the most, be the best.
To hear Steven speak is to be inspired. He knows his stuff and we implore that you listen.
You know we can’t stop at just five…
Breakups can be devastating. We all need support and Helen Anderson can be that for you if you’re in that part of your life at the moment. Coming from a place of experience, Helen talks about how best to deal with heartache.
Thomas Gray‘s back in our sub boxes with another sketch. Kelly and Alexa deals with today’s technology, and the way in which Thomas plays his character is pitch perfect. He’s someone who doesn’t upload very often, but when he does we love to watch.
Do you remember 2002? Were you even born then? Well, that year was pivotal for a lot of us and is the subject of a song from Anne-Marie. Samantha Harvey is bringing it to her channel with a wonderful cover that really shows off the voice that brought in her subscribers. It’s definitely on a par with the original, but she takes it down different avenues, creating something new in the process.
Emily Canham hasn’t done a H&M online haul in a long ol’ time and this week it was time to change that. We’ve got shorts, we’ve got swimwear, we’ve got a whole lot of different things and it’s all great! Emily not only shows us the clothes themselves, but also endeavours to show us her choices when it comes to styling them, giving herself variety in outfits. Impressive!
