Musician and YouTuber Carrie Hope Fletcher will play the part of Veronica in the West End production of Heathers: The Musical.
Based on the 1988 film of the same name, the musical version of Heathers was first presented in 2010.
Carrie‘s character, Veronica, is described as “another of the nobodies dreaming of a better day.
“But when she’s unexpectedly taken under the wings of the three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers,” the description continues, “her dreams of popularity finally start to come true.
“Until JD turns up, the mysterious teen rebel who teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it’s murder being a somebody.”
Carrie announced her role in a post on Instagram, adding: “So excited to get into that blue blazer!”
The news comes after Carrie was named Best Actress at the WhatsOnStage Awards in February for her performance as Wednesday Addams in the musical adaptation of The Addams Family.
Heathers: The Musical will run from Saturday 9 June to Saturday 4 August at The Other Palace. Tickets are available now on the theatre’s website.
