But Emma, why are you holding a lemon?
Show of hands: who else is stoked for Emma Blackery to release her new single, Dirt, on 16 March? The single’s release is a long time coming, and you can bet we’ll be staying up until midnight on release day in order to be one of the first to hear it. (And then tweet incessantly about it.)
To help spread the word about the single’s release, Emma has urged fans to tweet using the hashtag #DirtOutOnMarch16th. More specifically, she’s asked for them to send her videos of them biting into lemons. (Because she’s holding a lemon in the single’s artwork – get it?) From biting into lemons to getting creative with their profile pictures, Emma’s fans have been out in full force promoting the upcoming single, so we decided to share some of our fave posts.
Prepare for some lemonade.

We were blown away by the amount of art found in the hashtag and this portrait by @FallenHades has got to be one of our faves. How on earth are you so talented?! Teach us your ways!

Who else has been listening Emma’s old music on repeat in order to get hyped for this new era?
It’s a family affair
— Ash (@ash23817) March 11, 2018
Way to go @ash23817 for getting the whole family involved! We’re pretty sure we’d never be able to convince our loved ones to bite into a lemon, even if it meant promoting our fave’s new song.
It’s never too late

Not only did @emilycrowleyyy bite into a lemon once – she did it twice! That’s deserving of our applause.

Who knew the lemon emoji could be used to create such art?

We love @Katieclysm07’s dedication! Seriously, she drew a lemon on her face! (And it’s well done too!)
Ducks lay lemons?
— trish (@GodHatesTrish) March 12, 2018
Emma, we too would like to know if you own a citrus duck and, if so, where are you keeping it?

We too think you have a problem, @RyanMyles02, but we are LOVING the results! The lemon aesthetic suits you perfectly!
When b*tches give you lemons, make lemonade, right?
