The first annual International Vlogging Day will take place on 10 August 2018.
Summer in the City founders Tom Burns and David Bullas have announced the launch of International Vlogging Day – a one-day event “for for digital creators and those working in the industry to come together, to learn and network with each other”.
On 10 August, creators can upload a video of themselves talking about anything that is important to them with the hashtag #VloggingDay. A range of ideas and topics to help inspire them will be shared nearer the time.
In a statement, David Bullas said: “With so much of the news cycle focused on the negative and the divisive, we believe that the act of telling stories – of sharing ideas, and of listening to others – has a major role to play in increasing the empathy and understanding required to stand up to the challenges we face in the twenty-first century.”
Whilst the August date was chosen to coincide with the Creator and Industry Day of Summer in the City, Tom said International Vlogging Day is “a worldwide event. While we will be celebrating in London, we will also encourage people across the world to share their stories and participate in their own way. We hope that together we can spread a positive message about the industry we all work in and continue to inspire future creators to join this brilliant global community.”
More information can be found on Summer in the City’s website, as well as its Twitter and Instagram pages.
