Carrie Hope Fletcher will be performing in the fortieth anniversary tour of Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds at the end of this year.
The role will see her star alongside actor Jason Donovan and musician Newton Faulkner.
In posts on Instagram and Twitter, Carrie announced that she is to reprise the character of Beth in the production, which is an “iconic masterpiece” adapted from H.G. Wells’s novel of the same name.
Later this year, I shall be reprising my role of Beth, The Parson’s wife in ‘The War of Worlds’ alongside Jason Donovan, Adam Garcia, Newton Faulkner and Nathan James! Carrie originally played Beth, the parson’s wife, in 2014 during a hiatus from her role as Éponine in Les Misérables, and received critical acclaim.
The performance will be accompanied by the Black Smoke Band and a 36-piece ULLAdubULLA string ensemble, which will be conducted by Jeff Wayne himself.
The tour takes place from 30 November to 17 December, with a full list of dates and ticket information available on the official website.
