What is the first YouTube video you ever watched?
WILL: “We’re probably going back a solid ten years here… I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t something WWE-related.”
What is the first thing you’d do as YouTube CEO?
WILL: “Anyone with a north-eastern accent gets their CPM quadrupled. Then maybe try and ban Stephen Tries.”
Who’s your favourite YouTuber mentioned in TWOTI so far?
WILL: “No-one will ever top the creative genius of Callums Corner. Bristolian excellence.”
What advice can you give aspiring content creators?
WILL: “A few things spring to mind – focus on watch time and retention over views and subscribers. The latter are completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. If you want a career out of creating content your sole aim should be to bring value to those watching, not yourself. Finally – this sounds cynical but I feel it’s sadly true with YouTube – your thumbnail and title are equally as important as the content itself if you’re trying to gain traction. I’m going to get told off for this, but I’d recommend putting as much effort into marketing your content as I would actually making it. (Sorry.)”
What is YOUR most embarrassing video to date?
WILL: “Oh god, I think I’ve done a couple Minecraft let’s plays with my dog sat in the background of my facecam. I try to forget those.”
What were you doing before making YouTube videos?
WILL: “Being Whitley Bay’s finest Dinosaur Mini Golf attendant. Also failing my A Levels.”
Can you recommend a UK YouTuber that we should be watching?
WILL: “Durv. They’ll stop terminating my guy one day.”
Would you rather…
…make a video about life hacks or conspiracy theories?
WILL: “I dropped out of studying an Engineering degree for a reason, so I’m probably going to have to sit and waffle about something spooky for ten minutes, aren’t I?”

WILL: “Neither.”

WILL: “See above.”
…roast yourself or roast someone else?
WILL: “Ah. Hmm. I feel like all 100+ of my videos have been directed at other people so I don’t really have any other option here – someone else. (Sorry again.)”

WILL: “They’re having a fight? Well this is news to me.”
