Isn’t it great when creative people come together?
Whether it be a friendship, a collaboration or even a relationship, the results are oftentimes pretty magical. We see this happening all over YouTube, and one of our favourite pairs sparking creativity and giving us some major cute vibes are Bertie Gilbert and Savannah Brown.
Bertie and Savannah have been amongst our favourite creators for a few years now, and we’ve loved being able to watch as both their relationship and their audiences grow. Aside from being a pretty cute couple, they’re constantly inspiring and pushing each other to take on projects and follow their dreams. These two have had a pretty great journey so far, and we thought we’d highlight a few of our favourite moments from it.
Let It Be
If you ask us, Let It Be is one of Bertie’s best films thus far. Not only do we love the way it’s shot, but the acting is superb, and the honesty and raw emotion that’s showcased left us in awe. For the project, Bertie teamed with Savannah and dodie, and we highly recommend watching it if you have yet to. It’s seriously so good!
When Savannah did Bertie’s makeup
We all know Savanah is pretty much a magician when it comes to her makeup skills, but we didn’t know just how good she was until we saw her makeover on Bertie. He looks awesome and that bold lip is very enviable. Also, did you see his highlight?! He looks better than we do!
This is definitely one of the best things to come out of Bertie’s love for RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Their holiday specials
Each year, the pair upload their annual holiday special and it’s definitely one of our most anticipated videos of the Christmas season. In 2016, we watched as they set out to make Santa’s sexy dungeon – total #PlasticineGoals – and in 2015, they decided to build the best of gingerbread houses. Aside from Bertie’s personal touches, we’d say they did a pretty good job.
We can’t wait to see this year’s video!
Their trip to Iceland
Why is it that Bertie and Savannah are always travelling to such cool places?
Earlier this year, the pair visited Iceland, and given the photos they shared it looks like they had a pretty swell time. And how could they not?! The country’s scenery is b-e-a-utiful. We’re totes jealous.
When they took on New York
In the latest instalment of Muppets Take Manhattan, we see Bertie and Savannah touring lovely New York City. Not only did we love the singalong with Savannah’s mum and dad, but we got lost in the creativity as they visited art galleries throughout the city. We can guarantee this trip was one that sparked a lot of inspiration.

Recently, Savannah and Bertied got Ladybug and boy, were her first few days in the flat memorable. We have a slight inkling that Ladybug might be a ghost, because she seemed to disappear and reappear depending on whether or not the pair were in the room. It’s a good thing they set up secret cameras or else they would have thought their darling kitty was gone forever! Thankfully, things have settled down and Ladybug is growing more comfortable being around them.
Also, can we talk about how cute she is?! So adorbz.
Their flat tour
Who doesn’t love a good flat tour? They’re secretly one of our guilty pleasures (we’re pretty nosy), so we always jump at the chance to watch one!
Aside from the bad puns and the incredibly close camera zooms (thanks, Bertie), we’d have to say the two are pretty good hosts. Not only did we learn about the big girl in the kitchen who watches over them while they eat, but we now have a desire to turn the office fridge into a photo wall.
Their capitalist special
In this video, we watch Savannah and Bertie unbox newly printed copies of Savannah’s poetry book, Graffiti (and other poems), which we still read on a regular basis in order to find inspiration for our own creative endeavours. We’re fans of Bertie’s new nickname – Book Monkey has a ring to it, don’t you think? – and we were highly intrigued over the pair’s discussion of the Seven Deadly Sins.
However, we do have a bone to pick with Savannah, who’s never heard of the term “higgledy-piggledy”. We mean, how has she never heard of it?! It’s a part of our everyday vocabulary.
So there you have it…
