Who doesn’t love a good-natured prank?
We don’t mean those “social experiments” that seem to have taken over YouTube. No, we’re talking about the good and wholesome pranks that make the whole family burst out laughing. Sound like your cup of tea? Then Caspar Lee‘s your guy!
Over his time on YouTube, Caspar has shared many pranks with us, from his epic prank war with former roommate Joe Sugg to the time he surprised his mum for Christmas. Caspar’s brand of prank is something we wish all YouTube pranksters would embrace, and because we love his pranks so much we thought we’d share a few of our all-time faves. Prepare for some good-natured fun and a lot of laughs!
He’s such a diva
YouTubers can be such divas, amiright? JK, we know our faves would never act in such a way.
But for this prank, Caspar decided to trick US vlogger Lilly Singh into believing he really was the ultimate diva. From his late arrival to his insistence that he not be looked in the eye for more than a few seconds, it was a prank that was pretty successful all round, and we actually ended up feeling bad for Lilly towards the end.
This touching moment
We all love our mums. They’re the ones who helped us grow into the people we are today and we don’t know where we would be without them. Caspar feels the same way and for one Christmas decided to give his mum the surprise of a lifetime. With the help of sister Theodora Lee, Caspar set up a prank to surprise his mum at Christmas. The set-up was simple: tell his mum his flight wouldn’t make it to South Africa until Boxing Day. From there, it was smooth sailing.
Besides the fact he pushed his mum into the pool (how rude), it was such an adorable reunion moment. Her reaction was priceless and we audibly “aww”-ed when the two hugged. So cute.
When he “broke up” with Joe
Is there anything more sad than when two housemates break up? Well… probably, but it’s pretty sad when you consider that Joe and Caspar are the ultimate BFFs.
For this prank, Caspar called Joe to tell him he no longer wanted to housemates, and that he was staying in America. A further bombshell: he even said he didn’t actually like living with Joe! We held our breaths as we saw Joe react to the news, completely unaware it was all a prank and in a panic over how he’d keep the pair’s London apartment. Luckily for them (and us), he finally realised it was all a joke.
So. Many. Maltesers
Maltesers. They’re pretty much the best chocolate around, and we’ll fight anyone who thinks differently. (But not really, because physical confrontation isn’t really our thing.)
Just imagine how much planning and work went into this prank. Not only did Caspar have to find a friend who actually owns a car in London, which is much harder than it seems, but he also had to ensure the upholstery didn’t get damaged by melted chocolate! Man, Conor Maynard is a good sport.
Did anyone else shed a tear when all those Maltesers fell out of the car? No? Just us then…
The creepy massage
If you ask us, once you get around the awkwardness of a random stranger touching your body, massages are pretty much the most relaxing thing in the world. However, we feel we’d have an issue with having a random (and creepy) old man give us one.
Poor Joe – little did he know that Caspar and friend Will Darbyshire had ulterior motives when they set up an appointment for him. We wouldn’t be surprised if he never trusts them again!
His encounter with the law
Like we alluded to earlier, pranks can sometimes go a little too far. Thankfully, this time around, Caspar was only faking his arrest. Too bad for him, Joe didn’t believe it for a second. We feel this could have been a pretty hilarious one if everything worked out as it should.
So why are we including this, you ask? Because 1) we couldn’t get over how bad Mikey Pearce‘s “black eye” looked, and 2) we thought Caspar’s fake crying was pretty superb.
Poor Josh…
You remember the time Joe covered Caspar’s room in Post-it Notes, but did you see when Caspar took it one step further and filled Josh Pieters‘s room with toilet paper? It’s a pretty spectacular thing, and we think the fake poo was a nice touch.
Also, we have to give major props to Mama Lee for being such a good sport during this prank. The moment she came up behind Josh and scared him is still a highlight of Caspar’s channel.
What a prankster!
Seriously, how does Caspar come up with so many good prank ideas? The best we can come up with is a whoopee cushion. Although actually that’s a pretty solid classic, so we think we’ll stick with it… Y’all have been warned.
