During their streams, The Yogscast sell game bundles on their Humble page, with new games and bundles being added daily. The money raised is then donated to a charity of the donators choosing.
“Every Christmas people would offer to buy us presents but I always thought why don’t we give a gift instead”, Lewis Brindley explains. “The best way to thank us is to give a gift to someone less fortunate than us.”
The donations are being spread across different charities, such as Cancer Research UK, International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association and Save The Children, as well as there being an option to donate to a charity of your choice, from a list of over three thousand.
Over the past five years, The Yogscast have raised over $6 million for many different charities. In 2016 alone, $2,577,801 was donated by 86,573 people.
On December 1st, the first day of Jingle Jam 2017, $500,000 was raised, with some individuals donating up to $5000. Over 50,000 bundles were puchased within the first 48 hours.
