Our Nine Favourite Niki and Sammy Moments

Good things always come in pairs.

You’ve got fish and chips, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes… We could go on, but you get the picture. And you know who else makes a good pair? Niki and Sammy Albon!

Niki and Sammy have been making videos on YouTube for years, often leaving us busting a gut from laughter, questioning their cooking skills, and admiring their dedicated fandom. They’re one of our all-time favourite pairs of YouTube twins and we’ve loved seeing them grow over the years.

In fact, we love them so much that we felt it was time to dedicate an entire article to them and their achievements. So here they are, our nine favourite Niki and Sammy moments!

To kick off our list, we’re taking you all the way back to 2014, when Niki and Sammy hosted their holiday Twinmas live stream. Joined by friends Sam King, Laura Bubble, and dodie, it was a night full of Christmas cheer and fan love. We were lucky enough to be in the stream’s studio audience and we desperately wish we could relive all the excitement, from the pair’s hilarious antics to the multiple selfies that were taken.

Twins Carpool Karaoke

Move aside, James Corden. Your celebrity Carpool Karaoke has nothing on Niki and Sammy’s Twins Carpool Karaoke. The twins’ version has become one of our most anticipated YouTube series, and each time we find ourselves desperately wishing they’d allow us to make an appearance on the show. With guests like Melanie Murphy, Louise Pentland, Josh Pieters, and more, it’s definitely a series we don’t want to see ending any time soon, and we can always rely on it to bring some much needed music and laughs.

When they hosted the #YTStandsUpToCancer live stream

If you’ve been watching the #YTStandsUpToCancer and #StandUpWithYT live streams over the years, then you’ll know that Niki and Sammy are pretty regular participants. Cancer research is an important cause to them, as they lost their nan to cancer a few years ago, so we were excited to see that they would be presenting the 2015 charity stream. We think they have a future in the presenting business, if we do say so ourselves.

The Guardian and the Elves were locked in conflict in the maze below. The Guardian drew back her staff to launch her fatal magic at her enemy. But as she launched her attack, a blinding white light exploded from the tip. The Guardian and the Elves fell to floor engulfed by the white light, momentarily deprived of their sight. A powerful voice rose out of the silence and met their ears. It was the voice of one of the Greats, from the Kingdom of Mages. ‘Cease this fight. Your battle is misplaced and misjudged. You are not enemies and these elves place no threat to the Mage’s Kingdom.’ The light around them began to fade and their sight slowly restored. The Elves were taken aback and the Guardian seemed wary that this was some of the mischievous elves’ trickery. Deep down she could sense that the two elves were simply misguided. Struggling to find acceptance amongst their kin, which had driven them to complete this dangerous task. The voice returned, bellowing instructions to the triad. ’Each of you, place a hand on the Guardian’s Staff! We shall show you what you need to see.’ Tentatively, the Guardian and the Elves rose up, each placing a hand on the staff. A feeling of great ease fell upon them. This restorative energy passed through them, imparting great knowledge and power from the Mage’s Kingdom. From this day forth, their fates were tied.

In June 2016, Niki and Sammy teamed up with fellow YouTuber Helen Anderson and fine arts photographer Linda Blacker for a mystical photoshoot. Titled The Guardian of the Maze, the photos tell the tale of two dark elves as they try to reach a magic realm via an enchanted maze, with the hope of bringing magic to their people. On their way, they encounter Helen, the maze’s guardian.

It’s a truly beautiful photoshoot and we love the story it tells.

Their K-pop obsession

K-pop has taken the world by storm over the past few years and it appears no-one is safe from its grasp, including Niki and Sammy. The boys have become totally obsessed with the genre, even going so far as to include it in their rebrand, and are constantly posting videos of their reactions to new music videos and performances.

We wish they loved us just as much as they love BTS…

During their time on YouTube, the twins have been afforded many opportunities, including getting to present all the backstage fun at the 2016 BBC Music Awards! As we previously mentioned, the pair definitely have a future in the presenting biz, and this was definitely one of our all-time fave Niki and Sammy moments.

Not long after their BBC Music Awards presenting gig, the pair made an appearance on the BRIT Awards nominations red carpet, speaking to the nominees and getting in on some major meme action. We never thought we needed to see Michael Kiwanuka dab until it happened, and we couldn’t get over how cool the the twins looked chatting with Rag’n’Bone Man.

Their baking videos

We couldn’t write this list without including the one thing Niki and Sammy have become most known for: their hilarious baking videos. While we know the videos are all about learning how to make the perfect mug cake or the most delicious of cookies, the real reason we watch them is because we love seeing the twins roast each other as they bake.

Their taste tests

Taste tests are a staple of YouTube and Niki and Sammy have the genre mastered! Whether they’re testing random candies, foods from different countries, or anything else you can think of, it’s guaranteed you’ll find the funniest reactions (and the most honest of opinions) on the twins’ channel.

We’re glad they’re dedicated enough to always give us the lowdown on everyone’s favourite foods.

Our nine favourite Niki and Sammy moments. We’re in awe at how much the twins have accomplished during their time on YouTube, and we can’t wait to see where they go next.
