Rose and Rosie: the definition of a power couple.
Not only are Rose Dix and Rosie Spaughton incredible presenters and vloggers, they’re also a super sweet married couple whose videos have warmed our hearts. The pair – collectively dubbed “the Roses” – have the perfect chemistry for comedy and romance. We’ve watched as their relationship has developed from a dating couple to being married and the prospect of parenthood. Since we’d love for them to adopt us, we’re fairly certain the two of them will make wonderful mothers.
Between their three channels, Rose and Rosie have essentially everything we love about YouTube covered, and now that they’re breaking into the mainstream, we couldn’t be prouder! In fact, we’re so proud that we decided it was time to count down our favourite moments featuring the two. Prepare for cuteness overload. (And tons of laughter!)
The Exposed tour
Tours are an amazing way for YouTubers to connect with their audience, and Rose and Rosie’s was no exception. With their Exposed tour (which hit various cities across the UK and the US), the pair gave us amazing vlogs, offered audiences a great time, and helped a multitude of viewers with coming out to their relatives. It also gave us this absolute blessing of a photoshoot, shot by the ever-wonderful Linda Blacker.
The proposal
Grab yourself a box of tissues and prepare for tears, this is an emotional one.
In this heartfelt video, Rose vlogs the lead-up to the marriage proposal, including finding the perfect ring and collecting an array of sweet messages from the couple’s closest friends. Proposing with a framed drawing was such a unique idea and Rosie’s tearful reaction is just super sweet. Honestly, this whole video made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and we may or may not have shed multiple tears.
The wedding
One of the hardest parts of having two brides is coordinating dresses, but Rose and Rosie look positively stunning in their complementary yet unique choices. We’re completely in love with their whole wedding aesthetic, from the beautiful old estate where Rose proposed, to the iconic father-of-the-bride speeches. Featuring their friends and family, this is surely one of the sweetest wedding videos on YouTube and an absolute delight to watch.
You might want to grab those tissues again.
GTA Let’s Play
Rose and Rosie have recently launched their own gaming channel and we’re completely in love with it. In this Grand Theft Auto 5 instalment, we’re just glad to finally see someone (*cough* Rosie *cough*) with less knowledge of the controls than us. Ours and Rosie’s lack of control aside, Rose exhibits some first-class GTA skills, which are a force to be reckoned with.
To think, Rosie just wanted to join a picnic.
BBC Radio 1 Best British Vlogger win
The Radio 1 Teen Awards are kind of a big deal, and so when Rose and Rosie won Best British Vlogger together we couldn’t have been prouder of our girls. At the same time, they also interviewed a whole bunch of celebrities backstage – including Rose’s fave, Camila Cabello – and fangirled (just a little bit) over them.
Their first meeting
A baby Rose and Rosie met for the first time back in 2007, when Rose went, uninvited, to Rosie’s Halloween party disguised as a slightly wonky ghost. This video features some incredible commentary and questioning of teenage shenanigans by Rosie’s step-dad, as well as an appearance from her then-boyfriend. It’s so wild to think that just a decade later they’d be all grown up and married!
Reacting to old photos
The sheer level of iconic photos in this video is unbelievable: pudding-basin hair cuts (which Rosie totally rocked, we promise), the 48 hours where Rosie nearly went blind, the adorable reveal of Rose’s 19-year-old self (still rocking it, promise!), and a whole sequence of photos from a night where Rosie fell over and was unable to get up. The sharing of their memories is super sweet.
Just so you know, we’ll be employing the classic party Dix pose at every office party to come.
Halloween
For those of us still in the mood to be spooked (who are we kidding, we all know Halloween is a 365-days-a-year celebration), this skit is perfection. Check into the Dix Motel for an evening of spooky goings-on coupled with hilarity. Petition for the Dix Motel of Fears to get a YouTube Red series!
FAKE YOUTUBERS
Want to know the real tea? Rose and Rosie aren’t actually married or even remotely queer, as revealed by their sound technician, Hoytt, who became sick of how they were exploiting the LGBTQ+ community for subscribers. Really. Footage shows the two of them plotting how to grow their channel further: staging an affair, having a baby, or getting remarried are all plausible ideas for the 2017 story arc.
Of course, this isn’t remotely true! But this video is truly a hilarious gift.
Group hug, anyone?
We can’t imagine YouTube without Rose and Rosie. They’ve made their mark on the site (and on our hearts), and we can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for them! Whatever it is, we hope they take us along for the ride!
