Grab your paintbrush and a canvas, it’s time to get creative!
Have an interest in painting, crafts, and all things Disney? Want to take up painting, but aren’t quite sure where to start? Then we suggest giving Jamie Jo‘s channel a peek! From her Disney-inspired artwork to creations that are all her own, Jamie’s channel is filled to the brim with all the inspiration one needs to give art a try.
We here at TenEighty have been massive fans of Jamie’s for years now, and with each video she continues to blow us away with her talent. In fact, we love her so much that we decided it was time we dedicated an article to her and her artwork. So we present to you eight of the times Jamie Jo’s artwork blew us away, complete with ample amounts of paint!
Beauty and the Beast
Wow. Just wow. Wow, wow, wow!
That’s all we could say for minutes after watching Jamie’s Beauty and the Beast video, but can you blame us? Just look at that painting! Look at how gorgeous Belle’s dress is, and did you see the sequin detail on the Beast’s coat? It’s safe to say Jamie hit it right out of the park with this one, especially considering how big a canvas she had to fill! There’s just so much we love about this painting that we’re finding ourselves at a loss for words.
We love what she was able to create with oil paints, and we hope she uses them more in the future!
The Harley Quinn painting
In case you couldn’t tell from her channel, Jamie is pretty much a pro at portrait paintings, and this painting of Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad is proof of that. Jamie’s rendition looks exactly like Margot Robbie all decked out in Harley’s gear, complete with her colourful pigtails and smudged makeup.
Jamie, what’s your secret? We need to know!
Cupcake, anyone?
We all know that cupcakes are basically life, so why not celebrate their greatness by combining them with our fave Pixar characters? In this cute canvas painting, Jamie melded the two worlds to create an original work of art we wish was hanging on our own wall! We were nearly in tears looking at the house from Up floating in the distance, and we loved seeing Joy pop out of the icing with that infectious smile on her face!
So adorbz
When she’s not painting Disney characters or blowing us away with her realistic portraits, you can often find Jamie painting the most adorable of things. And yes, while we know a stack of pancakes with a strawberry might not seem cutew, just wait until you see her painting – you’ll change your mind.
Also, did you see that syrup? We found ourselves mesmerised by it. How on earth did she manage to make it look so realistic?! It’s almost like we could lick it off the canvas!
The Fantastic Beasts painting
Upon the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Jamie teamed up with Warner Bros. to recreate the film’s lead character, Newt Scamander. We were blown away by the finished product, and if we hadn’t just watched her painting it, we would have for sure thought it was a photograph! It’s so realistic, and we can’t get over her attention to detail, from the shadows to the fine lines.
Cute YouTuber puppets
One of the cutest (and we mean cutest) projects we’ve seen on Jamie’s channel is her YouTuber puppet collection. We can’t get over how adorable Daniel Howell, Phil Lester, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Tyler Oakley, Bry, and Candice O’Reilly look in puppet form. Seriously, we don’t think our hearts can handle it!
Our fave puppet? Phil’s, obviously. We’re massive Pokémon fans, so the Pikachu ears are a nice touch.
The Disney lantern box
We know Jamie wasn’t too fond of this finished project, as she felt the paint was too chalky, but we don’t know why because we felt the lantern was adorable and pretty ingenious! We love the variety of scenes she painted, from the adorable one of Stitch to the (uber pretty) stained-glass Tangled scene.
Disney ink paintings
Anyone who’s painted with ink before knows just how cool it is, as it allows you to blend colours effortlessly and to create beautiful pieces of art. We knew when we saw this video in our sub box that Jamie was going to blow us away yet again – and we weren’t wrong. From the Elsa and Anna painting to the one featuring Buzz and Woody, Jamie’s ink work left us feeling quite envious. Seriously, how does she do it?!
How is Jamie Jo so talented?!
We’d swear she was magic if we didn’t know better. We can’t get over how much of a wizard she is with a paintbrush, and we seriously wish we were as artistic as her… Oh, if only. We guess we’ll stick to writing.
