During the brand new YouTube event HelloWorld, we had a chance to catch up with Oli White and talked all sorts from apple crumble to Caspar Lee being an alien…
What’s the thing you’re most looking forward to at HelloWorld?
OLI: You know what, I think it’s just the fact that we’ve been given an opportunity to do something that we’ve never done before. We’ve been asked “what is the main thing you want to do to construct the show yourself?” and I’ve definitely taken that on board and said “right, this is how I want my segment to go” and it’s come together really nicely. I think it’s an opportunity, instead of doing a Q&A onstage, to do something fun like a gameshow and I feel really excited about it.
What’s your favourite song?
O: Despacito [by Luis Fonsi] still! I don’t know if it’s my actual favourite song but it’s always in my head so I must like it somehow!
What’s your favourite book?
What’s your favourite movie?
O: I loved Lord of the Rings when I was growing up, it’s really good. I love films that you have to get proper deep in to watch and that are a little bit unrealistic.
What is your favourite food?
O: I love a roast! You can’t beat a roast dinner. And I had some apple crumble here yesterday [at HelloWorld] and it was so good.
Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
O: The most interesting person I’ve ever met has to be Caspar [Lee], even though he’s one of my best friends. He’s just so weird! He’s a very strange character. We always have a joke saying he’s an alien from a different planet!
What’s your favourite fan encounter that you’ve ever had?
O: There’s been way too many. I always have tried to think for amazing memorable moments but I don’t think there’s one in particular. The general just meeting viewers is really special to me.
