First there was Intertwined, then there was You…
In late October, dodie embarked on her second ever headlining tour. Having attended her Intertwined tour, we went into this one thinking we’d know what to expect – but we were wrong. As soon as dodie hit the stage, we could see how much her confidence and musicianship had grown between the two tours, and night after night, she awed audiences with her relatable songs and quirky personality, making each show memorable. In fact, we enjoyed the You tour so much that we decided it was necessary to dedicate an entire article to it!
So here it is: our seven favourite moments from dodie’s You tour!
1. The epic balloon drop

We think everyone can agree that a balloon drop at a concert is pretty much the coolest thing a band or musician can do, so obviously dodie had to get in on the action! For her London show, dodie surprised the audience by showering them with yellow and white balloons at the end of the gig.
YOU DID IT, DODIE. YOU DID THE BALLOON DROP.
2. The super cute taxi story
During her Glasgow show, dodie shared the cutest story ever, proving just how much her fans mean to her. Seriously, it’s uber adorable – we don’t think you’ll be able to handle it:
Whilst on her way to get her new tattoo (more on that later), dodie got to talking to her taxi driver, who said his daughter loved watching ukulele videos on YouTube. This prompted dodie’s bandmate to ask if she possibly knew of dodie. Well, one thing led to another and they called his daughter, who totally knew who dodie was and was ecstatic about the call! The best part? dodie invited her and her friend to that night’s concert!
See, we told you it was cute.
3. Multiple dodies?!

For the tour’s final show, dodie’s bandmates decided to perform in what we think is the coolest group costume ever! With multiple dodies on stage, it must have been hard discerning who the real one was!
4. The 6/10 fan project
I think it was during 6/10, everybody held up placards with lovely positive things and it was amazing☆ pic.twitter.com/z5DVBKAO0b

During dodie’s performance of 6/10 in Leeds, the audience held up placards with positive messages, letting dodie know just how much they love her, as well as how much she inspires them. dodie had no idea they were going to do this, and the project left everyone feeling pretty emosh.
5. LGBTQ+ pride

During her performance of She, dodie showed everyone just how proud she is to be bisexual by draping herself in the pride flag and lighting the stage in bi colours.
6. The In the Middle drum solo

We’re not going to lie, our favourite part about seeing In the Middle performed live is the drum solo dodie does in the middle (get it?) of the song. It fills us with so much energy and we simply can’t get enough!
7. More tattoos!
It appears getting tattoos is a tour tradition for dodie! On the Intertwined tour, she got a quote from La La Land tattooed on her arm, and this time she got a beautiful lavender piece. It’s a tattoo that has a lot of meaning to dodie and her family, and that makes it extra special.
We can’t wait to see what other tour tattoos she gets next!
dodie, what do we have to do to get you back out on tour?
We don’t know how long we can wait until we see you live again! We want to relive all the fun of this tour, from the inside jokes to the inclusiveness we felt being part of a loving and adoring audience belting out every word to every song. There’s something about that that makes going to your shows a unique experience, and we loved every single minute of it!
