Is it just us, or was the past week one for the books?
Not only did we publish our interview with Joe Sugg, but the hilarious #StandUpWithYT charity live stream occurred! Oh, and we can’t forget to mention Giovanna Fletcher‘s brand new podcast! See, it was a busy week.
Even with all the hustle and bustle, our faves still managed to churn out brilliant videos. From parodies and original music to honest chats and comedic takes, they gave us their all this week. So take a seat, grab a blanket, and dive into this week’s Round-Up.
Look What I Do For Views – PARODY | LukeIsNotSexy
Obsessed with Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do? Then you definitely need to watch Luke Cutforth‘s Look What I Do For Views.
A parody of Swift’s single, Luke’s version takes aim at all things YouTube – the good and the bad. Referencing everything from viral memes and sponsorships, to YouTube Red and doddleoddleoddleoddleoddleoddle, it’s everything we could ever want from a parody and more.
Not enough to convince you? Then let us add how lovely Luke looks in a blonde wig.
I’ve Not Been Well | SuperSamStuff
It’s been a while since we’ve had a video from Sam Saffold-Geri, and his latest explains his absence.
Sam discusses his state of mind of late, explaining how he’s let himself get lost in one project after the next to give himself a sense of being “good enough” – something he describes as coming from a sense of desperation, not passion. With that realisation, he’s decided to take a step back and focus on himself, and we’re rooting for him. Go pet a dog, Sam. In fact, pet two or three, if you feel like it!
If you find yourself feeling in any way similar, then we highly suggest giving this video a watch. It’ll leave you with a lot to think over.
Why I Won’t Date Bisexuals | neonfiona
Fighting biphobia one sarcastic comment at a time, it’s NeonFiona!
In this video, Fiona takes on many of the comments those who are biphobic tend to spew when asked about dating someone who identifies as bisexual. Her sarcasm throughout makes it a hilarious watch and the way in which she reads out the comments and stereotypes shows just how ridiculous they are.
It’s a necessary watch, if you ask us.
Quicksand [OFFICIAL VIDEO] | Cameron Sanderson
What’s that? A new music video from Cameron Sanderson?! It must be our lucky day!
It’s no secret that we here at TenEighty HQ are massive fans of Cameron’s, so to say we were excited to see he’d released a new video is a bit of an understatement. Carrying with it the pop sentiments we’ve come to expect and love from his music, Quicksand will quickly take over your brain and leave you dancing in the street like no-one’s watching!
Speaking out about racism – A Year On | Scola Dondo
Closing out our Round-Up is Scola Dondo, with a discussion on how her life has changed a year after speaking up about the lack of diversity in 2016’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.
Scola’s discussion touches on how, on a personal level, the video allowed for her to become involved in more campaigns and sponsorships, while community-wise, there is still a long way to go. She urges for more inclusion and partnership between creators of different races, and we hope her message gets heard by the masses. Only with education and awareness will we see the change that needs to occur.
What, you want more videos?! If you insist…
What exactly is so great about Mars? Charlie McDonnell explains in the latest episode of Fun Science, with a little help from Canadian vlogger Julie Nolke.
Daniel J. Layton and Hannah Witton are back in the kitchen for another episode of Baking With Layton! Watch closely for an adorable cameo from Dodie Clark.
It looks like Tom Fletcher has gone and won the award for Best Book Club Announcement. The music, the lights, the books – it’s all so beautiful!
Dealing with anxiety or know someone who is? Give this video from Nissy Tee a watch – she makes some very important and helpful points.
