It might be September, but the summer isn’t over just yet, which means… Wedding season!
YouTubers share a lot with us: their weekly shopping lists, their fave workouts, their awkward cooking moments. But this Five of the Best brings you the biggest day of their lives. If you’re anything like us here at TenEighty, then these videos will bring out all the sentimentality you didn’t know existed, so be prepared with some tissues and a dream journal to take note of coolest weddings we haven’t been invited to.
OUR WEDDING DAY | Lily Pebbles
City dwellers often imagine barn weddings, with hay bales and cows breaking through the fence. Lily Pebbles couldn’t have chosen a more sophisticated yet rustic venue in her softly fairy-lit barn.
This wedding is all about the little touches and will be sure to give you inspiration for the future. We started making a list, but then couldn’t stop – we want it all! The “Need a wee yet?” sign, the apron for the main course carvers, the sparkly (and, more importantly, totally walkable) flat shoes… The ambition for the wedding was to feel personal, and this video really makes us feel like part of the family.
Wedding goals, anyone?
Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black’s Wedding Video | Tom Daley
Not only did Tom Daley upload this beautiful video of his wedding to Oscar-winner Dustin Lance Black, he also put together a pre-wedding vlog series with Jemma Wilson. Being a world champion and Olympic bronze medallist clearly fuels his desire to achieve – not many of us would want to try and make our own wedding cake, after all! Be sure to check out the perfect red, white, and blue three-tier masterpiece, then give it a go yourself!
The sweeping landscape of Bovey Castle and the sheer joy and happiness on the guests’ faces create a beautiful setting and fantastic cinematography opportunities. The pure love you can hear in Tom and Lance’s voiceovers proves to everyone that, when you know you’ve found the one, you know.
Have Tom and Lance found their happily ever after? We think so.
Welcome To Our Wedding Day | Lex and Lainey Griffin Get Married | Lainey Griffin
Don’t think you’ll get a lie in on your wedding day, as Lainey Griffin‘s started at 6am with champagne and silk robes! All that preparation was worth it though, as both Lainey and her bridesmaids looked lovely, whilst fiancé Lex made a bold, yet dashing choice with his tweed and elbow patches.
Lex and Lainey’s wedding looked so fun and quirky, and it was everything we’d expect from them. We haven’t seen a lot of balloons at weddings, but we love the bright colours in the audience and it really made the petal-scattered aisle pop.
My Wedding Speech | Tom Fletcher
This is a wedding classic, and a video that went viral for good reason. It’s catchy and so special, and we still can’t stop grinning madly all the way through. Bringing back all our love for McFly, we’d happily take Giovanna Fletcher’s place.
Weddings are stressful and impossible to plan alone, so we love that Tom Fletcher uses this opportunity to thank all of the people who’ve helped them along the way. “Thank you” isn’t good enough, but a whole song dedicated to others is more than enough to bring tears to your eyes. It’s tragic that, if we tried to recreate this moment, everyone would be so distracted at how out of key we were that they wouldn’t appreciate the selflessness of our moment.
The Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton | The Royal Family
Who knew the Royal Family had a YouTube channel? Not us, but now it’s left us wondering where they display their YouTube plaques… alongside the Crown Jewels, hopefully.
Three-and-a-half hours of actual real-life princess magic, the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton captivated the world and is available to watch in detail over and over again. The crowd is full of celebs, but we can’t say we saw any other YouTubers in the church. This is the wedding of many fairytales: the lace dress, the long train, the kiss on the balcony to an adoring crowd. Who wouldn’t want to be caught up in the whirlwind romance and adventure of becoming a princess?
In 188 countries, over 72 million people streamed the Royal Wedding through YouTube when it first aired. We can only wonder if Prince Harry will be able to match that when his own time down the aisle arrives.
So there you have it…
Five of the Best: YouTuber Weddings. Who doesn’t love a good wedding? Bringing together family, friends and amazing locations, we’re (not so) patiently waiting for our own chance to walk down the aisle. Until then, we’ll simply live out our dreams through YouTuber Weddings. It’s normal to have a special playlist, right?!
