While we normally wouldn’t let jealousy get the better of us, we feel this week is different.
Why, you ask? Because most of North America is enjoying the solar eclipse, while we’re stuck with an underwhelming view of… wait for it…. 4% coverage. We’re so happy that our friends across the pond get to see such a stellar view, we just with we could experience it with them.
However, since our view is less than spectacular, it’s given us more time to focus on YouTube. As everyone was preparing for the eclipse and going out to get their special sunglasses, we were watching our faves in the hopes of bringing you the best of the best from the past week. So, without further ado, here’s this week’s Round-Up!
Corfu [CC] | Rosianna Halse Rojas
Blessing us with a more educational take on your typical travel vlog, Rosianna Halse Rojas takes us along on her trip to Corfu!
We have some serious travel envy after watching Rosianna’s video. The island looks beautiful, and this seems like the perfect girls’ trip. A friend of TenEighty said it best: this video is a beautiful and thoughtful reflection of places, friendship, and experiences.
Do yourself a favour and watch this in fullscreen.
MY NEW SCARF LINE! 10 Tutorials with Hijabs + Hoojabs | Amena
In case you didn’t know, Amena has her own line of hijabs and hoojabs! This week, she shows off ten beautiful scarves in a variety of colours. She also shows several different ways to wear both the hijab and hoojab, without doing it in the traditional tutorial way.
We can’t get over how beautiful these all are!

Have you been wondering where Charlie McDonnell has been? You’re definitely not the only one.
This week, Charlie gives us a little insight into where he’s been the past few months and why he hasn’t been uploading to his channel, in a very clever way that we haven’t seen before! While we missed him, we understand that everyone needs a break every now and then, and we’re glad Charlie has filled us in to let us know he’s doing well.
Results Day 2017: Success and Failure | KhanStopMe
There are a few videos floating around YouTube to ease the minds of those receiving their A Level results, but our favourite definitely had to be this one from Taha Khan. We know what you’re thinking, but no, it’s not just because it’s a miracle he’s uploaded two videos within a week. We’re crossing our fingers that you got the results you wanted and needed, but if you didn’t, we hope that Taha’s words help. Take some deep breaths – everything will work out, we promise.
Also, can we take a second and thank Taha for this upload? We don’t know when we’ll see another video. We’ve been #blessed.
Jake Paul, KSI & The Sidemen – STOP THE DISS TRACKS! | Caspar
Have you ever read or heard the story of Gilgamesh? No? That’s okay. There isn’t much different about Gilgamesh than any other hero in literature. However, we bring him up because there’s a story of Gilgamesh journeying into a cedar forest to kill the evil monster that resided within it, Humbaba.
We just read that story this week, which is ironic because Caspar Lee has set out on a heroic journey of his own with this video, with pal Conor Maynard by his side. Like Gilgamesh killed the monster in the forest, Caspar is out to kill the evil on YouTube: the diss track.
It’s time to put #PositivityOverNegativity.
