The launch event for Grace Victory’s book No Filter took place on 27 July on the rooftop terrace of Hachette UK’s headquarters.
Upon arrival, guests were offered a bright blue No Filter-themed cocktail, or a non-alcoholic equivalent. The room was filled with copies of the book and decorative beauty products, as well as a table for nail-painting and a stall holding impressive amounts of colourful doughnuts, iced with the hashtag #NoFilter. Stepping outside, we were greeted by a huge terrace with panoramic views of London.
After a while soaking it all in, it was time for speeches. Grace stood next to her editor, who began by saying that she felt privileged to be able to work on the book, especially as Grace had initially been approached by about ten publishers.
“It was actually 15!” Grace jokingly interjected, making the whole room laugh.
When Grace’s turn came, she immediately teared up, and spoke of how thankful she feels towards everyone who has supported her. She finished by encouraging the cheering room to buy the book – or two copies if they felt the urge.
Speaking to TenEighty, she said: “I feel like the evening has gone very well, and I’m very overwhelmed! I can’t stop crying- I’m very emotional, as everyone knows. Thank you so much to everyone who has bought the book.”
She added: “I’m on a rooftop, the sky has gone pink and I’m incredibly happy!”
Fellow vloggers Hannah Witton and Jodie Porteous (Just Jodes) also attended the event. Hannah said: “Grace’s book launch has been absolutely amazing. There are so many cool people here and she is incredible. I can’t wait to read the book!”
No Filter is now available in stores across the UK and on Amazon.
