According to The Escapists Wiki, the game – a sequel to the 2015 original – will feature upgraded graphics, a new battle system, expanded crafting, more ways to escape, and multiplayer, as well as the YouTuber cameos. It is being developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and will be published by Team17.

The Escapists 2 will be released on 22 August on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Playstation 4, with a Nintendo Switch edition following at a later date.
