The next High Five Spaceship project is set for release in Summer 2018.
Chris Bingham is currently running a Kickstarter for his third record under the moniker High Five Spaceship, currently using the working title #YELLOWALBUM. The collaborative project, headed by Bing, features such guests as YouTube star Daniel Dobbs, Youth Killed It guitarist Carlos Montero, US-based singer/songwriter Bryarly Bishop, folk musician Elliott Morris, and Australian rap artist TVMPST.

#YELLOWALBUM is said to feature many previous collaborators, as well as “a few new features TBA”. The sound of the album will differ from previous High Five Spaceship releases, being described as “mellow ambience meets excitable pop-psych” and “[a] summer techno album for today’s connected family”, compared to the more atmospheric electronica sounds featured in last album MMCCXV.
Running alongside the Kickstarter is a limited-run podcast, Inside the Spaceship, where Bing goes into detail on the production of previous HFS tracks. Backers of the album can also gain access to exclusive downloads of previous album tracks, remixes, and covers.
Further perks for the project include access to the backers-only blog, which will detail progress on the album’s production, an HFS welcome pack with free downloads of recent material, notebooks from the production of all three HFS albums and various podcasts, and the chance to choose a song for Bing to cover, as well as digital and physical copies of the album itself.
The Kickstarter is currently at its halfway point, and has raised just over 90% of its £4000 goal. The one stretch goal is a release party for the album, and will be unlocked if the total reaches £5300.
Fans can pledge to the project by visiting yellowalbum.com, with digital preorders available for £8. The Kickstarter will run until 11 August, while #YELLOWALBUM is set for release in the summer of 2018.
