Jamal Edwards will speak at a “YouTube Killed The TV Channel” panel on 27 July.
Jamal, founder of the online broadcasting company SBTV, will break down how to forge a career in the digital media world. The “TED-style” talk will be hosted by WeWork as part of their month-long We, The Creators series
The talk will centre on the changing face of online media, and the opportunities that arise for creative people ready to get involved. “The way we consume music and entertainment is unrecognisable from ten years ago,” the event organisers say. “Appointment-to-view television has been replaced by the box set binge. The printed page is being overtaken by the dynamic tablet edition. The traditional music channel is now competing with self-uploads from handycams.”
The event listing states: “Some of the most influential and innovative members of London’s ever-evolving media scene will discuss what opportunities lie ahead for those who want to make a business out of entertainment”. The event will also include networking opportunities for attendees, alongside music and cocktails.
Jamal will appear alongside Chief Editor of @London and Co-Founder of Be Social Global Dave Burt, with more speakers from the industry to be announced. The event will be the final talk in the We, The Creators series which lead as a run up to the WeWork’s Creator Awards in September.
The event will take place at WeWork Moorgate. Tickets are free and available now.
